  • He seems to have forgotten that Mark Bowen actually took the 5th penalty, followed by Robbo & Newts!! LOL. What a brilliant interview.

I couldn't watch the Newton pen, for some reason I was convinced he would miss!!
  • I went to the lobby area couldnt watch. There were these two huge black guys stewards, dark shades like you might find outside a top club. Both Spurs fans. They walked up to the top of the stairs and watched the pen i stood a few steps down behind em. sasa saved it we all went totaly nuts !!Was leaping round with these guys who going as mad as me and they didnt even follow Charlton !
  • Great story from our great club!

Yeah Wagstaff... but he also spoke highly of Elliott, Yussuf, Shelvey to name a few

    Kins
    Powell
    Rufus
    Young
    Parker
    Jenson

They come along once in 100 years for this club. We cant expect to find the next "Kinsella" or "parker" because they are of such quality they dont exist very often. Ifthey did the top clubs wouldnt be paying zillions of pounds to get these players from overseas. We have been lucky to have seen em play for us and hopefully before another 100 years we will see their likes again.

Having watched the Yoof team a few times this year, I am convinced I've seen the new Kinsella in JonJo Shelvey.
  • There is still some class at our club especially from ex players and the board i have never not had a question not answered when i have met ex players of the directors top folks all of them kins and powelly are just superb
  • £3.50 a beer, £5 a gallon for petrol, £25 to see us against WBA,£400 next for a ST, seeing Chris Powell in a 3 lions Shirt PRICELESS.

its all about memories and hopefully creating some more.
  • A fantastic story, thanks for sharing it. It makes me realise just how lucky I am to have seen these players play and how lucky we all our that they're still connected with the club.

  • Great stuff PeteF!

It sounds like your lad had a day to remember.
  • My son has just come home from school and is chuffed you all seemed to enjoy his interview, thanks to those two class men he has a memory to cherish.
  • [cite]Posted By: WSS[/cite]Mark, not Bryan.

And he managed wales before he had a club team
  • Yes, but Kinsella managed Walsall who are better than Wales anyway!!!

Also, Ledge, please believe me when I say that I would never equate Bryan Hughes with Mark Kinsella!!!

Great stuff, PeteF - what a fascinating day for your lad (and you too, I bet!) .

I thrive on reading this type of stuff from inside the club. It lifts my heart and makes me swell with pride that Charlton are MY club. I can't tell you enough how much I appreciated it.

And I can't tell you enough how much I appreciated you posting it. Great job!
