Comments

  • Gibbs has to start we need tro see him play before he goes
  • I'd keep Ambrose - attackig midfielder who knows where the goal is - without him this season we would be looking at relegation as his goals have probably kept us in it ( goals v Watford, home and away, 2 v Ipswich at home)

At the start of the season I would have done anything to keep Thomas as his pre-season form looked liked he was up for it - now i'd drive him myself to anybody who would give us £750,000+. Great talent but no end product - not scored this season at all and 95% of his crosses are useless.

Against Barnsley there should be no reason not to play Bassey at left back and both Wagstaff & Shelvey should play too. We all know what the senior pros can do, now let the youngsters shoe us otherwise we'll never find out.
  • Definitely play Elliott, Shelvey, and Wagstaff. Put Kins in charge for the next two matches
  • Who would give us £750,000 for Thomas ?
  • GH Some people god knows why rate him
  • and wherever thomas goes to he'll start week in week out, score loads of goals and be their player of the season

No problem with the defence or up front but in the middle why play 2 of the 4 out of their normal positions. Drop Holland and move ZZ to the middle Play Cook on the left and Ambrose on the right.
  • What is it with managers ? Its not just Pardew but Curbs did it as well.

We all know that ZZ can't play wide right & that Varney has shown on at least 2 occaisons that by playing wide he can take on defenders and get a decent cross over (saints away is the perfect example - best cross served up all season)

So what dooes Pardew do - play ZZ wide right for the last few games with Varney on the bench - last straw was last home game when ZZ came off only for Thomas to come on instead of Varney - this then came home to roost when Thomas found himself 10 yards out with seconds left and blasted the ball into orbit (hasn't scored all season and has probably only had a handful of shots during this time) - I'm sure Varney would have done better.

I'm going to Barnsley expecting to see a few changes - woebetide Pardew if he doesn't
  • It looks as though Shelvey could make his debut this week, after being withdrawn at half time last night for the reserves. A few of the youths look worth a go, and on last nights showing, Cory gibbs looks ready to make up for lost time. What a reception he would get. (and no who are ya s please) ;0)

Oh dear, oh dear. Why put yourself through the agony - you must know that Pards won't do what you want.

Don't go. Take the kids somewhere nice, have a massage, relax with an old Doors LP (on vinyl).
Do whatever you need to relax and take it easy for once. :-)

Thatcher is out of contract in any case as are Gibbs and Toddy. I'd keep Gibbs and Toddy if, as you say, we can sure of their fitness. Thing is can you ever say that?

Thatcher? not sure. Think we have other options in that position and he came when we were a prem club from a prem club so I'd guess that means prem wages.

Every player has a price (Andy Reid's should have been a lot more than it was) but selling Ambrose for £500k would be stupid.

Just look at the pure stats .....

..... Ambrose and ZZ have been resonsible for about half our league goals this season - each has scored or provided the official assist for 25% of our goals.
  • easily get 1.5 mill for Ambrose

    Thomas we will struggle

I reckon £1m for Thomas or if lower a decent sell on clause, after all we know it will happen.
