The seasons effectively over and the last few months will take some getting over. There's no plays offs to look forward to. There's no glow of automatic promotion to bask in including speculation over how we will spend the £30M. There's not even England's appearence in the Euro to look forward to.
Slits wrists!!.......Only joking, but I've had a real downer since that shambolic performance on Saturday - talk about going out with a whimper. Its an odd contrast to last year when we were relegated after the Spuds game. There was great emotion that night. The singing, the vocal support and the hope of returning were all there. The club and fans were as one. There was great optimism that we would be back quickly. On Saturday, the feeling of animosity towards both Pards and the players was palpable and only highlighted how far we've fallen.
I expect I will snap out of this soon and once the fixture list comes out and pre-season starts, I'll be up for it again but the sense of deflation is very strong at the moment, especially with the Stripey Nigels likely to be in the play offs.

The immortal words of one William Shankly spring to mind
'Some people believe football is a matter of life and death.
I'm very disappointed with that attitude.
I can assure you it is much, much more important than that.'
Like me his comments were intended to be ironic..;-)
thought the worse when we were relegated , then realised we weren't as bad as i thought and this league wasn't that good either and despite the upheaval we had enough about us as a squad and team to have a real go at automatic promotion and failing that we'd get into the play offs, at worst!
what happened from early december (5 wins in 23 league games) is an absolute disgrace, with the players we have available, it's still not believable...
2 years on the grass isn't greener
for fecks sake pardew you should be hanging your head in shame just for how pissed off i am then X it by 20000
You take the rough with the smooth.
Ride with the bad times to enjoy the good times. ( and we've had plenty of good times in the last 16 years)
We'll all be back in August, hopeful.
My thoughts exactly.
makes no difference ledge they could do a derby but will be 30 million richer, thats the thing i dont think anybody who goes up will stay up and that included us but i would have been happy knowing even if we went down we would be financially a lot more stable.
Bang on the money DS!
ooops i will get me coat
