The current manager The current team Dowie Or his crock of shite that he assembled togethor Curbishley, didnt invest in the future as he knew he was going to do one
No way Curbishley can be blamed. He told the Board he would see out his contract but it chose to let him go a year early.
If Curbs had the £11 million Dowie had he would have bought more wisely I'm sure.
With the benefit of hindsight (although I and a few others did say it at the time) Keith Peacock should have been appointed caretaker like Blackburn did with Tony Parkes which would have allowed more time to get the right longterm manager.
To answer your question I blame Dowie mainly. He effectively spunked 2 years money and we have effectively been playing catch up ever since.
How the hell are the rest of us Championship/Lower Premiership fodder genuinely able to compete in a sane way. Derby are in trouble before they are even out of the league, Fulham could be the same. In what other business do the financials change so dramatically in a few weeks...for promotion or relegation.
The promoted teams from League 1 have a real chance in the Championship. The three relegated from the Prem are already having to dramatically change the structure of the club. Its madness.
Lets get things straight if Curbs had been given the money that Dowie had he wouldve attracted better players than that bufoon could ever have dreamed of attracting,
the blame lies at the current manager for our predicament this season full stop
alan pardew is totally to blame - he planned for the season players etc no one to blame but him. of course the players must take some but most goes to Mr Pardew - but still willing to give him more time.
