How about just saying "yeah, i f##ked up. I got some big decisions wrong and I made some stupid tactical decisions. I have to accept most of the blame but i'll do better next season"
And what good is that when we have learnt f*** all?
Pardew has only himself to blame. If you are going to raise expactions and run your mouth off about "playing your way out of the division" then expect a shit storm to come your way when the football, in the majority, is long ball rubbish and you don't even finish in the top 6 of a pretty poor league.
This season has been a complete write off with nothing to show for it. We haven't made the play offs and imo we don't have a nucleus of a side that could challange next season. We should have forgotton all about promotion and used it to build a consistant side that played decent football. The chances are without all the chopping and changing we would have probably mad the play offs anyway.
At least if there had been some consistency in selection then the likes of Youga, Moot2kil, Semedo, Racon and Varney would have had pretty much a full season behind them playing as a team that would at least give us a good standing for next season.
I can't see that we are any better off now than we were at the start of the season. Back to the drawing board!
is that the royal "We" u have come short, its your team, its your farmations and tactics, no fecking we about it, for once in your life take some responsibilty for your lack of ability to man mange a team and motivate them and ask a member of your coaching team to do the press confrence next season as you clearly have no idea of what to say and when to say it
the players owe responsibility to us and Parps but he owes the respect to us to shoulder the blame from his team not line them up. let those big enough and brave enough to come out and say I F****d up. but he should be the one trosering the blame in public

i know oggy i dont think i explained it right i was just responding to wss i dont think any player other than holland or ambrose will come out and take ownership
That's fair enough, NLA - but we don't really know what's going on behind the scenes.
WSS with his brilliant report on his POTY chat with Big Chris implied that the players do care (and certainly would professionally if their future was on the line). Big Chris said pre-season that the players were on fire and in his own words thought they would 'piss the league' this year.
Maybe confidence turns into arrogance and complacency. It's a fine line.
Key players got injured, Diawarra sold the week the season opened, the morale of the team nosediving after Reidy was sold and so many loan players muddling various team issues/no settled side for long periods - then you can see how a momentum of desperation sets in and how difficult it is to reverse.
Pardew has made mistakes and to be fair, he's held his hands up now and taken responsibility.
What else can he do right now - except be a sitting target for those who just want to throw rotten tomatoes at him?
WSS some nights at those poty the players look as intrested as i am in politics and that is very little.
Oggy i am just peeded off to my back teeth as i said on another post i dont think any blame can lay with big chris as he scored the most and didnt start many and he was injured for most of the campaign.
i feel let down by pardew whilst i still sit in the pardew in camp i cannot hide my displeasure at his inept performance this year, i wanted the team to show us a strong end to a season like he promised but his negativity rubbed off in to neglect of duty to many of the playing staff and i hope that they do hurt not because we hurt but it shows an elemant of pride of which we have been denied this season.
i am sure i feel no less cheated or no more cheated than any other true fan but when you have to admit you are wrong you have to admit it and i am admitting that i got it wrong this year as i was certain we would get into the playoffs atleast
I think pardew got found out this year his excuse for getting here was dowie, his idea was 'right i'll buy the best strikers from the lower leagues and borrow the rest from else where ,that should do the trick' But he forgot one thing...they cant play together and he aint got a clue....whats he gonna do next year...borrow more players that only want to get thier fitness back or prove they are not a has been. sorry guys just a bit frustrated at the moment..god knows how you all feel and you go to the games.........

NLA ........know how you feel mate, most of us feel the team/Pards has this season underperformed & underachieved.
But often situations like this become the catalyst for real analysis within the club.
I remember the year before Charlton made the playoffs, we had a shocking season and in the first half of the season particularly, barely above the bottom three. The previous season we'd been in the playoffs, finishing 6th.
People were unhappy and said so - ultimately we finished 15th.
Supposing the Angry Brigade had had their way?
Curbs would have been sacked and who knows what would have happened - chances are it wouldn't have happened at Wembley, and the Prem glory years may never have happened at all.
A bit like Millwall.
Pards has ridden this wave of 'Anti-Pards-ism' before at West Ham ....... failing to get them back to the Prem at the first attempt. It wasn't pretty the next year either, but they scraped their way into the playoffs, got promoted,
finished 9th & were just 30 seconds away from winning the FA Cup.
He said he and the Board had a 2 year plan. We have to give him the second year to put it right.
If he doesn't, it doesn't bear thinking about. Not for Charlton certainly - but not for Pards' career, either.
[cite]Posted By: oohaahmortimer[/cite]i sense an air of caution around the words of our resident optimist oggy;-)
now i'm really getting worried , the end is nigh , the end is nigh
Well, Ooohaah, my optimism has been soundly beaten.

from my inside man in the changing room , for what it's worth...... pards really ripped into the players afterwards on saturday and said the team were a disgrace to the fans!!

I know he may have to say that and they may have to act like that but it came across very genuine to me.
He really had no clue as to why we havent consistently performed this season.
lack of leadership on the field, and especially in the middle of the park
