Not really mate. Guess its general frustration with the way the whole footie thing has become. Charlton and their players are no differant to the vast majority of so called "professionals" today. We dont count as their contracts (which they dont honour) are the main thing. Booing of teams regardless if they are winning seems to say to me that "fans" have a shorter pain threshold than they used to have probably due to the money these numpty footballers can "ern" in a month. Most of todays footballers DESERVE a smake in the gob or ten.
Er we're teetering on a recession and people are talking about raising ticket prices????? The only thing we can do is to slash the ticket prices, halve the squad and dump whatever non playing staff that we can. This seasons gamble has backfired and it's time to face reality. :-(
you aint wrong there i could have clumped 4 of them that nite if he wernt with me but then if he wernt there i certainly wouldnt have been hanging around to see them after that night.
millsy summed up the majority of footballers on tuesday shameless
as did franny jeeffers a few seasons back when he came into my mates sports bar in eltham and refused to sign a charlton fans shirt aged 5 or 6 saying he would put it on ebayi thought the kids dad was gonna kill him

surely the club will give you a 10 year season ticket for services offered henners
LOL - I don't think so somehow although it would be a nice gesture and would be much appreciated - better put that in in case someone is reading this : - )

Henry does the feedback you get on here get passed to the powers to be??I can see the lowest number of renewals for season tickets for a long time, and once you lose a customer it is very hard to get them back, i think club could be suprised in the summer and maybe start to ask questions themselves, but if you highlight the problem no you dont have to be a hero but you would be fulfilling your role as the Fans Elected Board Director

Not only do I tell them but this board gets read by "other" people as well. There's also the Tarket 40K committee which makes suggestions to the board on pricing etc.
The debate about prices and offers has been going on for a long while and yes part of my role on the target 40k committee and on the board is to argue for what is in the best interests of the club and the fans. Not saying that that is ever going to be easy to agree as for every 100 fans their will be 101 opinions. There's a healthy debate and people do change their minds as a results.
Like last year with the free ST offer the club does try to give some value (OK it all went tits up but that's another issue) and consider people's feelings but at the same time people want the club to spend big on fees and salaries.
The hard thing is to balance the need for income (we are cheaper than Palace and Millwall FFS) with what fans will be willing to pay as well as keep a differential between ST prices and 23 x match days prices which is a big factor for some people.
With everyone, me included, being so down at the moment I can see whatever is annouced being howled down before people have considered all the options and reasons.
Anyway, on a different point. Airman Brown and I are looking a ways to save the Hampshire valley express. Are you serious about sponsoring it as you mentioned?
[cite]Posted By: Goonerhater[/cite]Yes change its name !! Sounds like a train journey by The Famous Five FFS we wonder why we are called train spoters.
How about one from Kidbrooke we can call it The Kidbrooke Bullet Express ? ie you get shot if we loose ?
Would be happy to run one from Kidbrooke but no demand. £5 each when you can drive or even walk?
I have suggested a moaners express and a happy clappy express so people only have to meet people who agree with them : - )
No matter how many times the myth about buying match tickets being cheaper than a season ticket is repeated, it won't become true.
The dearest season ticket was £475 - the total of adult tickets was £465. But you'd have had to spend the difference on booking fees.
However, we agree that this too tight and when the prices are published you'll find we've addressed it.
As for the school that supposedly gets free tickets for every match, I don't see how that is possible - and I sign off the comps. The reality is that we do use free tickets to encourage support through schools and community activities, which I think is sensible, but we don't give free tickets to the same groups of people on a regular basis.
We also bring in thousands of kids who pay £10, which initiative is sometimes assumed to be free but isn't.

I assume this means that season ticket prices will be reduced then, surely it's not intended to put up match day prices?
I wrote in the programme a few months back that the most likely way this issue would be tackled was by raising match ticket prices in the affected areas - in most of them there are not currently that many tickets for match by match sale in the first place.
