45 minutes: Gareth Ainsworth lets fly with an effort so bad the ball flies out of the stadium
Half-time: 0-1
Don't you just wish you were there?
Doesn't seem like the players are taking it seriously, this is our last chance and from the reports I'm not getting the vibe that they are taking it seriously. Seems they are in de-mob mode.
Let's hope for a stronger second half, and maybe a debut from Wagstaff.
I reckon you're right - Its not gonna just get better overnight. Pards has got problems with morale in the squad (ie : Thomas) and a bit more surgery needs to be done to the team to get things right. Just haven't got the right balance yet for a Championship team. Need some fighters that don't give up. Everyone always says it but players like Rufus, Brown, Kinsella and Robinson gave their all and worked their nuts off. This lot now aren't in the same league as them. But theres always hope ... !
[cite]Posted By: mascot88[/cite]I think our time in the big time is over for a while, I still dont think that we have "touched bottom" (cue loads of cheap jokes) I think that we are a club on the down... I met a camera man who was charlton who was doing some work for the events company I was working for and just after the season we finished 7th he said we were a club on the down and wed peaked and how right he was.... selling reidy, the ONLY prem player we had really, could be the nail in Charlton athletics coffin, we need something big, we need Pardew to INSPIRE these guys, no more excuses no more whinning, sort it out! Pardew!!!!! SORT IT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On Reid I'd like to know the full story, if it's true that Sunderland offered him a massive increase in wages then I don't see how we could have kept him, we are certainly missing his ability though.
thats supposed to whinning as in whinging but he might have read i as winning eh!?!
With Reid I understand BFR life changing money on offer and all the rest but I once saw an interview with big sam and him saying hes 20 stone and six foot seven and a contract is a contract and thats that..... with all the confusion with Parkers leaving thinking he could leave if someone from the top three came in and all this jazz.... i think we are too nice and were just getting done over and Pardew comes in says were too nice and .... blah blah blah, Im just annoyed as we all are really its been a steady steady decline, it satrted with parker leaving we were really something that year... really good... bloodying peoples noses left and right.... first time in a few years that we sold just as we were putting together a unit....
I dont think we have turned the corner, i dont think we are on the "up" I think it will take a while and Im thinking more and more that Prdew isnt the man.... SHOW ME IM WRONG PARDEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHOW ME IM WRONG!!!!!
i think we are too nice and were just getting done over and Pardew comes in says were too nice and .... blah blah blah, Im just annoyed as we all are really its been a steady steady decline
..............
And when Pardew says we are too nice, he was widely criticised here...
Curbs made a similar point about being criticised at West Ham and how their fan's expectations are that much greater, he got slagged off here too...

I'm not sure what a wage offer really has to do with it. If he's under contract, he's under contract. Granted you can't hold on forever because the value of the player depreciates. But I don't understand why we couldn't have sat him down and said, "Look Andy, we know you'd like to go but we are in the middle of a promotion campaign here and we need you. If Sunderland still want you at the end of the season, we'll talk about it then". The only fly in the ointment that I can see is that he was injured at the time and perhaps the board thought we wouldn't get many games out of him anyway.

I'd be amazed if he found a single player with a pulse.
The OS 'LIVE' is suddenly risen from the dead:

some how the ball went up the other end and a mix up between mccarthy and weaver cleared.
