kevin phillips.........

according to the bbc web site his contract runs out this season and as yet has not singed a new one. His advisers are after a 2 year deal - WBA are offering a 1yr deal with another 1 yr depending on appearances etc.

Aged 34, signed from Villa in 2006 and has scored 46 goals in 76 games.........

what are WBA playing at ??????? his goal ratio is better than 1 in 2 and wba wont pick up a better striker without having to pay millions.

I'd kill for a striker with that kind of ratio. when did any of ours get anywhere near that ? (sir clive and Hunty excepting)

The hold out for a two year contract often happens at this stage in a career

Totally agree though- quality- how many of the players in our play off winning team are still at the top of their game.

if he come to us he would all of a sudden put on two stone get injured and annoy the manager,we have a skill in killing peoples football careers

Came into the professional game from non league (Baldock Town I think) so knows about the "real" working world. He comes across as someone who genuinely appreciates the opportunity of being very well paid to play professional football.

Phillips, Michael Gray, Jody Craddock all still playing Championship football from the sunderland team.

Danny Mills and Shaun Newton (just about) are the only two of ours. Rufus would be though had he not got injured.
