Had a bit of a clearout recently and found an edition of The Charlton Magazine dated Feb 1992.Had totally forgotten about this publication, dont think it ran for long.
It was Curbs/Gritts 1st year in charge at Upton Park and included an interview with AC praising our away support...'.4,000 at Millwall, 3,000 at Southend, 1,000 at Oxford' etc
Also had a Martin Robinson feature and a focus on the up and coming kids and a certain R Rufus got a mention, plus a Marin Simons Q & A on the forthcoming release of the 10 year season tickets.
Seemed another world.:-)

and that was when we had home crowds of 6-7k !!
There was a letter in Voice the Valley around that time.
Dear Sir
why is it that we can take over 3000 fans to Southend but only 1000 to a crucial match at Oxford. Oxford is not a very long trip. I blame the new fans who have only started coming since we left the Valley. Our away support is terrible.
Yours
Mrs O A Mortimer
PS Get rid of Curbishley and Gritt. They have done nothing.
that's a misquote , it originally said get rid of Gritt, Curbishley could turn this club around...
very good judge Mrs Mortimer
and we have since found out the reason we brought 3k to southend and not to oxford is because charlton fans only turn up for seaside matches in numbers
do you ever think/talk about anything else ?
