was looking at the phillips thread and was thinking about some of the other players we missed out on who went on to big things
Richard Gough played for or had trials with our youths and Andy Townsend had numerous trials.
Also remember in the smellhurst days being linked with two scandinavian players called Mats Magnussun and Lars Larsonn I think and one went on to play for benfica and become a million quid player less than a year later which in the late eighties was still rather a lot of money .
