What does the club gain out of setting up

the occasional community schemes in South Africa and to Jamaica. Jamaica to fight crime !!

I can understand Greenwich, Bexley and most notably Kent but why the above ?

Could be ok if British Airways sponsors our shirts next season as they have become partners on the SA junket. whoops trip.

  • We don't have a community scheme in Jamaica (no she went of her own accord). It was a one off trip where we were asked to step in at the last minute. We get some good publicity and make contacts plus we have some favours to call in in the future.

South Africa is paid for by BA, South African Police etc, etc so puts a little extra money the way of the Trust and means we build long term relationships with the likes of Capetown Ajax. Means that we can talent spot in South Africa something the South African FA are really not happy about when other clubs try to come in and nick players but put nothing in.

Key thing is that the Trust is self funding. It's not money coming from the club but some of the money washes around.

BA were going to sponsor our shirts but the paperwork got lost at Terminal five. : - )
