Morons ?

Morons !!!

Worst fans in the World !!

Just two of the comments on here.

23,000 average crowd this year, only won 4 in 20 thats 4 in 20. Lost and played like mupets in more games than i care to remember. Just why would people be screaming the roof down ? This is the worst team and worst run since the Gritt / Curbs duet. Over 10 years ago. Biggest squad in league and with 5 games to go the Manager still dont know what should be his best 11. So just why do we think people should be screaming the roof down?

This year i have sat there stunned then angry then stunned then angry , have booed at half time at least once and full time at least a couple of times.

What we have seem this season is not good enough how people react to it is their business.

Worst fans in World ? no way
Morons ? pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • I don't boo but UI do tend to just get up and walk out if it's a pile of shit.

I always stay to the end but if the fans are all gone by the time the players are applauding them then they should get the hint.

I am sick to death with hearing boo's after 20 mins if we are not 2 goals to the good - get a grip people!

Yeah its not the booing per se that annoys me, its what its directed at.

Like booing when a pass is misplaced or when it goes out of play. It used be a sigh of frustration that the move had broken down but now its an aggressive boo directed at an individual.

In my opinion that is wrong. Boo the team at full time if you feel like it but at half time when it's 1-1 or constantly throughout the game? I think its a bit silly really.
  • Booing when we were 1-0 down was pointless and does nothing for the team. Booing at the end of a performance like Preston was acceptable as it was a totally unacceptable performance which even the manager acknowledged.

But most of this team do actually try to do their best I feel, just lack of ability at times and right now confidence, which booing will not help.

bang on the money the only time it should be done is at the end

    Agree with BRE.

I'd rather we didn't boo at all but I think that football in general has got into a state of cheer a win. boo a defeat regardless of the opposition, effort, skill shown etc.

Sure, have a moan at players occasionally but by the same token give them a clap or a "c'mon" when they do well and try and play a positive role in getting them playing.

If you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem.
  • i will always back people who boo at the end of a game if it is warranted. Booing during is just not on
  • Lot of nicey nicey twoddle in there Henry.

I say jolly well done the lot of them.

    Lol! Manangementspeak!

    Go and do a seminar!
  • But which came first. The booing or the bad performance?

I think Charlton fans are more tolerent than most with some of the things we have seen over the years. It's just the dis-jointed performances we've seen for a while now (late Curbishley era also) that are starting to frustrate people. We never seem to dominate a game for more than a couple of minutes.Team selections are all up the wall and some of the players basic skills are just atrocious.
When you pay decent money, you expect a lot better and we are just not seeing that.

No, radical Black politics of the 1960s. First used by Eldridge Cleaver.

Davey, you went to a crap school so can't be blamed for being ignorant but you peanut man were a hippy in the 1960's smoking dope and wearing a kaftan so no excuses

I spat my coffee out over that one Henry. Peanutman in a kaftan.

He had a nice pair of shorts on whilst shopping in Tescos on Sunday, but I don't think his sandals come out until May.

great post gooner if people want to boo fair play to them they've paid their money, the team is shite thats why they are booing i getting sick and tired of people deflecting the blame here.
  • it must relly affect jerome when he hears the boos,im sure nightclubbing for the evening is alltogether soured.
  • I think I am being misrepresented here.

I was really a bit too late to be a hippy. I was more a hairy. Sadly time has taken care of that.

I didnt have a kaftan although I did have velvet flares with those sort of wedgy triangle cut out things. And those loon jackety things.

Hairy/hippie all the same thing. Sitting around listening to ELP and Deep Purple LPs and saying "dig it, man".

Yep did see ELP at Kennington Oval in 1973. Never saw Purple but did see Ritchie Blackmores Rainbow at the Rainbow. The Oval was great it was a Melody Maker sponsored event with with Focus,Genesis, Argent, Jack Bruce, Wishbone Ash and ELP. All for a £1. You would have hated it.
  • Sounds more like a South Sea Bubble Island jacket man.....bit like me in that case. Saw Wishbone Ash a couple of times at Catford about 6-7 years back and Rick Wakeman come to think of it...
  • I saw Eden Kane at Lewisham Town Hall...

"I stayed at home with my Dylan and my Stones, never got off on the revolution stuff."

I tried like Wishbone Ash but couldn't. Hated Genesis.

Thankfully "I turned on a late night station and my life was saved by (Punk) rock and roll".

As the song says "last night John Peel saved my life"

Does he work for the council then? I know you know Davy but can anyone else name his two singer/songwriter brothers.
