  • ive not had a ST for two years for various reasons but am going to get one for next season.
  • [cite]Posted By: Chirpy Red Jnr[/cite]Never thought of not renewing it, my saturdays would be soooo boring!

Just wait...you've another three/four decades of this at least.
  • I doubt it.
  • Couldn't face not being able to moan while at the match. not quite the same whinging at the radio or Sky Sports news :-)

But seriously, I don't think I could NOT renew. Saturdays would be purgatory without Charlton
  • renew, without question, glutton for it me!
  • Yes I will even though I will only see about half the games!!! Makes me appreciate it more when I do get to go!!! Friday was painful though, still the bloke behind me taking the mick and waxing lyrical had us all in stitches for the 90!!!
  • I will even though I am in the process of moving to Norwich.
  • Honest story,a mate of ours who has a season ticket with us has not gone for best part of 2 seasons now but always has renewed,i think he is crackers

    Im with you Ollie
Lets get the North Upper rocking fella
  • I've had a season ticket since 1974/75. Hadn't missed a game at home for ten years previously. But after tonight's result and the recent Preston game, I'm not sure I've got the stomach for it. We've been fortunate to enjoy the fantasy of the last 15 years, with the club building year on year. But now I fear we're in serious decline. All this talk of play offs disguises the fact that if we continue this form next season we will be relegated.

We've got to compete next season with clubs that have serious financial backing. The odds will be against us.

So bad as I feel right now, yeah, I guess I'll be there. That's what supporting Charlton's all about isn't it?

  • Up until last season I've always had a season ticket.

Couldn't stand the way we played those last couple of years under Curbs and didn't reknew.

I think the thoughts of a lot of people on this thread sum up where I am. It's not about us, I've just lost my passion for the game in general so tend to cherry pick/ go to games where I've got mate's supporting the opposing team.

Having sat in the West Stand today I'm honestly not sure why some people go to watch footy, it's changed out of all recognition since those less skillful but much more fun halcyon days of the 80's. Booing before half time and just a general lack of people actually getting vocal summed it up for me. Whatever you do, don't say the F word in the West Stand, you'll be looked at much like a terrorist.
  • my old man said today that he didn't think he wanted to renew next year - and he's been going down there for 40-odd years!

I dunno what he's got to moan about. I paid £700 to watch what we've been served up at home this year as I bought the old buzzard his OAP's ticket and he still hasn't paid me back!
  • I'm sure I will renew, but will be very interested to see the relative costs of a season ticket versus match by match prices.

I think this will be a big factor next year, as unless we see a massive turnaround in the next few weeks, people will know that it will no doubt be cheaper to buy for each game that they can get to and that they're unlikely to get trampled in the rush for tickets...

I'm in two minds at the moment to be honest. I've had to miss a few games this season due to work commitments, and it'll be even worse next season if they move the kick-offs back to 7:45. But I could probably wear the financial hit if I was enjoying the experience of going to games more. It's not even the quality of the football that annoys me - yes we are too reliant on hoofing it up to Iwelumo or Gray or whoever, but we've never been Barcelona, have we?

Truth is, I'm just sick to the back teeth of the negativity. I can understand the occasional groan when someone cocks it up, but the incessant moaning and bitching about our own players is totally counterproductive. At the Bristol City game, there was a bloke sitting near me who was trying to persuade those around him not to cheer if Iwelumo scored because it would only encourage Pards to keep playing him. IT'S NOT LIKE WE'RE SCORING SO MANY GOALS THAT WE CAN AFFORD TO BE FUSSY ABOUT WHO'S DOING IT! It's not the team that are spoiling my Saturday afternoon most of the time, it's my fellow supporters customers.
  • People are saying that they want the good old days back with no plastic support and a half full stadium of purist Charlton fans.We may have got away with that in the seventies and eighties but in my opinion a club with a very low fan base is only going in one direction.

Unfortunately, football is all about making money nowadays. And if we're not making any then i would seriously worry about our future.
  • I nearly changed my mind about renewing on saturday, I was so blooming angry and disappointed. No not with the team, although we might have defended better, with the morons that sit around me and those that booed at the end.

I have to ask myself what do they want?

All game people slagged off most of our players and cries like "get that useless black lump Iwellumo off."

To which I poiinted out that in my opinion he was probably our best player, which garnered 2well he is still shit!"

I enjoyed the game and thought it was the best I have seen us for a while and for once we seem to have discovered two strikers that can actually link up.

If it was not for that pesky bloke with the hyphen (just like against Plymouth) we would have won that game.
  • I might change stands or move elsewhere to get away from the brain dead lot behind me in J block

Problem is that these newbees are everywhere, they expect us to walk this division and return to the glory land so they can see the teams play that they pay their money for (if you know what I mean).

There not newbies, there people who have been going for a while, and looked disappointed when the eqaulisers went in on Saturday cause they couldn't moan

[cite]Posted By: KenTred[/cite]renew but expect a substantial reduction in price
    I think you'll be disappointed...

Just seen Hull's ST prices for next year have been released and the cheapest adult ticket anywhere in the ground is £355!

And Stoke's cheapest adult ticket is £309.
  • Wolves adult prices for next year range from £432 - £540.

They have just closed their Early Bird offer where the prices were reduced to £345 - £464, and they sold 12,500.
