Loans last a minimum of 28 days, apparently ........ if Racon consistantly performs for Brighton, would Pards recall him and put him straight in our 1st team ...... ?
He's played really well for them in the last couple of games, they're raving about him on that site paulbaconsarnie posted a link to. Hopefully he'll be in our first team next season.
it's bloody ridiculous that Pards talked him up after the Bristol game and he;s not had a bloody sniff. Considering we've hardly set the world alight he must surely have been worth a punt.
I read soemwhere he wanted him to go on loan in England to get used to the English game. Personaly think that's a load of old bollox just a way of getting round the fact he scared of getting it wrong.
I think the geezer is absolute class and him and zz would have been a revelation this year or indeed, him and semedo with zz playing behind a one up front.
Seems from this other thread on the same board that he had another good game v Forest and that they was a Charlton scout watching him (or a least someone in Charlton gear).
Was listening to the Forest / Brighton game yesterday whilst stuck on the a12 waiting for someone to collect a race horse that they'd let go and play with the traffic...anyway...his name didn't crop up too often in the commentary (or I wasn't listening closely enough) but he obviously did something right and as at the end Stan Collymore singled him out for praise..
I think its really dull of Pards to loan out a player who could be learning his trade in our team.....lets face it, we have seen some Pards dross lately...Racoon cant be any worse, and at least he is ours.
What I've seen of Therry this season, I've liked too, but I don't see him in training day in day out and that is what Pards and his coaching staff will rely upon as much as watching him in any first or reserve team appearances. What I do know is that we have seen many a good prospect play for us this season, including Varney, Racon, Youga, Basey, Semedo, Dickson and Mootouakil and they will all be better for whatever experience they have gained throughout this season with us or away on loan. Whatever division we play in next season and odds are stacked in favour of the Championship, I am really looking forward to these guys bedding into a decent, more experienced side.
I wonder at what stage Pardew will give up on hypothetical play-off possibilities and change the side to have next season in mind, with Pavo's choices being first on the team-sheet for me, together with Shelvey and Wagstaff (and Arter if fit).
I agree that we have a clutch of exciting prospects.
If we can get over our overly high expectations of this season, stop whingeing about Pards for 5 minutes then we should be able to look back at this season as one of acclimatisation for a radically overhauled squad.
If we were to get promoted next season then I think most of us would agree wholeheartedly that it was a good thing that we didn't scrabble our way up this season.

What a refreshing post - and you're right Pavo, our squad is full of up and coming promising youngsters.
Let's give Pards credit there.
Don't have any knowledge of the Charlton training system but wonder why our players seem to do better when being coached by another club. Strange that Youga developed at Scunthorpe and gone slowly backwards since returning. Has Racon got talents not brought out by Charlton coaching? I'm no body language expert but saw Pards being interviewed a month or so ago on TV and when he said something like ".....an excellent backroom team..." he went into exaggerated nose scratching mode.

That sub cameo for 20 mins at Palace, too. Never put a foot wrong.
And at Bristol City, stepped into the team and looked like he'd played every match.
Hopefully he'll be in our first team next season.

Hope he gets them into the play-offs and up.
Semedo/Racon partnership maybe?
can't wait to see him next year
