From the Birmingham Mail:
TONY Mowbray has backed Dean Kiely to overcome any dissenting voices from the Albion fans.
The Baggies No.1 has come under pressure from a section of supporters in recent weeks, notably at Barnsley.
But Mowbray has confidence in his 37-year-old and dropped the biggest hint yet he was likely to keep faith with the experienced keeper, despite the temptation to bring in Czech Michal Danek, who was the star performer in Albion's reserve game on Monday.
Danek has yet to play for Albion's first team and the indications are he will need to remain patient for now, with Mowbray more than satisfied Kiely can help kick-start the club's promotion push.
And the Albion boss pointed to Kiely's record following the stinging criticism he received at Oakwell last month.
"I haven't detected any abuse towards Dean recently," said Mowbray.
"He is long enough in the tooth to accept whatever comes his way.
"A few weeks ago, around the Barnsley game, there was a little bit of heat that I was aware of but I haven't heard it in the last game or two.
"He responded after Barnsley with four clean sheets in five games and I have got no fears about Dean's temperament or personality."
Albion travel to Kiely's old club Charlton on Friday for a televised tea-time clash.
The Baggies have six away games to come, with just three remaining at The Hawthorns.
And while Mowbray would always prefer home matches, he believes his side are equipped to pick up results on their travels.
"All I know is that there are no easy games for anybody at any stage and I don't feel or sense the pressure of playing at home," he added.
"I would rather play every game at home. I understand teams can go away and frustrate people but whether that is in our nature is probably another question.
"I'm not sure about the away records of other teams this year but without being spectacular we have won a few games on the road this year and going away from home should hold no fears for us."
