On the player of the year thread someone mentione Racon, is he still witrh the club or has he gone out on loan?

  • I think they tried to loan him but there was no takers - still playing in the reserves
  • So what is it with Racon ...... everytime we've seen him play, he's looked the part.
At Bristol C away and when he came on at Palace, he looked outstanding.

A case of face doesn't fit or attitude problem -or what? Strange.
  • I think at the time he was pushing for a place we were already fielding a very young side, so Holland was brought back instead. Heard somewhere that he's had a couple of poor games for the reserves lately, but I'd still like to see him given a go, maybe alongside Holland and give ZZ a break.
  • Part of the bigger problem we have in this league with the players we have at our disposal.

I think that Pards may have got in too many players thinking "I fancy some of that skill in my squad" and not enough players that a solid team can be built round. Look at most people's candidates for POTY and it seems that players that know the game such as Holland and Weaver are on most people's lists. Even Paddy has come to the fore now he seems to have settled. The fleeting glimpses of talent we have seen from the likes of Moot2, Youga, Racon, Sam, Thomas, etc are not enough to make us consistent.

Too many icing on the cake players and not enough cake.
  • Pardew said he didnt think he was used to the style of British football...a few French clubs came in for him on loan, but he wouldnt let him go. I think he deserves a chance with the dross we have seen lately. Pardew even said that he thought he was outstanding at Bristol, but thought that he was unlucky as others were pushing for places and he was down the list.....very odd. But Pards has his favourites as we know.
  • That's a perfect analogy, Sco.
  • mmmm cake
