didn't get burnley and ipswich tickets as planned yesterday so thought i'd go to bexleyheath today.
walks in shop....

shop assistant : can i help you sir?
me : yes. i understand you now sell tickets from here now. can i have 4 burnley please. here are the CON no's.
**shop assistant taps keyboard, looks under counter**
sa : i'm sorry sir, we've sold out
**my better half prepares to catch my fall**
me : what? we've sold out burnley on a tuesday night?
sa : no. we just haven't got tickets here. there are some at the valley.
me : but that isn't open and it says on the website and in program that you sell all home and away tickets from here.
sa : i could phone and make sure.
me : but it's not open.
sa : oh yeah, it will be a recorded message.
me : don't worrymate. can you tell me when the tickets go back to burnley so i can arrange to try and get down there tomorrow.
sa : ......erm........i think they go back tomorrow afternoon but don't take that as gospel.
me : alright. can you tell me if they are on sale on the night.
sa : ...erm....i wouldn't've thought so.
me : ok mate forget about burnley. can i have 3 adults and 2 kids for ipswich. here are the CON no's.
**shop assistant taps keyboard, looks under counter**
sa : i'm sorry sir, we've sold out of those aswell.
**doesn't know whether to laugh or cry. shakes head and walks out shop**

this isn't a direct dig at the staff. it's the lack of information that they have.
if you advertise that 2 outlets sell all tickets and 1 of those outlets is closed, it's not chuffing hard to ensure that people can get all tickets from the open one. no wonder our away support is sh*t ;-)

sorry about the long rant. at least it's not at the team.

ps. any info re burnley tickets would be appreciated.

    To be fair, it's always going to be difficult selling Away tickets in 2 places as they have to have the actual tickets there (printed by the other club) to hand over. It's not like Home tickets where they can just print them off...

    but whats the point of having all the tickets for both matches at the 1 place that is shut? it is common sense that if you advertise tickets on sale at both places, when only 1 is open, that place should have them.
    even so it doesn't excuse the lack of info being passed on to the staff at b'heath.

    rant over. tickets on sale 'til 6 tonight so no excuses for not going. see you all there.
