I and some others of a certain age bang on about how much we appreciated and enjoyed the Curbishley years even if some of the football was cautious.
Some people have added today's game to their worst 10 on that thread but today was like countless "second" division matches we suffered in the 60s and 70s in particular. If I closed my eyes and imagined The Valley as it used to be Halford and Sodje could have been Les Berry and Peter Shaw in all their glory. Back then though there was a fair chance Killer, Flash or Paddy could conjure something up.
I don't mind the team losing to a better side providing the effort is there but today, in my opinion, only Weaver, Holland Mc Carthy, Varney and (wait for it!) Youga can hold their heads up.
Youga made some howlers but he didn't hide and kept trying unlike some of the others. I respect that.
As for Sinclair get him back to Chelsea as soon as. He offers nothing that Sam and Thomas don't. In fact if anything he is even lazier than Jerome!

It's called lack of motivation. Weight's got nothing to do with it (as Doc Brown once said)
I'm a fan of ZZ Steve but thought he went missing a bit today. He's been great over the season though so he's allowed a bad game.
I agree but I still think it comes down to motivation.
Bowyer and even Pélé without motivation would have been crap.
Absolutely agree with you there.....I've been crying out that we need a mdifield dynamo....
Like anything wrong with you nowadays, doctor will tell you its a virus. Seems to be the same with football. Every bad spell or performance, the players passion gets questioned.
There has been plenty of shite over the years, but the lack of passion blaming has only come along in recent years. Sometimes players have bad spells and bad performances, and boy was today one of them.

Not reaslly the time of the season to rest players but I would ot mind ZZ missing out on the trip to Burnley tomorrow, he was spasmodic between great and rubbish today
As for sinclair - give the guy a chance he has something because mourinho and grant play him so he must have something. He hardly got a ball passed to him in the 1st half.
Shockig performance today
might be time to try diamond formation with Ambrose at the front and Semedo at the back of it.
We've got good 1st touch and tidy passing players in our midfield, but frequently they are being bypassed by lumping the ball over their heads. It all smacks of anxiety and not wanting posession.
When we were playing well in January and won 3 League home games on the trot, there was Magic passing the ball calmly out of defence to feet.
