For anyone else going by train from Essex/East/North London the Jubilee line is shut from Stratford to North Greenwich tomorrow.

Thanks to the PNE website for the info.

  • The DLR is not running between Stratford and West India Quay, so thats not an option, either.

Looks like a train into Fenchurch St or liverpool St and across to London Bridge
  • Stratford to North Woolwich on the gangster line and walk through the tunnel is an option.

I might be coming into work for a couple of hours tomorrow as we are moving desks but will be in the Liberal in time for the early ko.
  • Walking through Woolwich.... brave man

They are re naming Woolwich as Little somalia
  • The gangster line doesnt even exist according to National Rail. I assume thats up the spout as well.

Dont they realise coming into London and out again is half hour drinking time.
  • early KO????????

WTF please tell me you are joking
  • its 3pm thank god

Ill give updates on teh tube if you like as i work here LOL

The North Woolwich line has been/is in the process of being (delete as appropriate!) replaced by the DLR.
  • Fatality on the lewisham track this morning causing considerable delays.
  • Southend - never done it so may be talking out of my a**e, but is the Gravesend foot tunnel an option and then train in from Gravesend mainline?

  • Why not DLR from Stratford to Greenwich, then overground from there?
  • DLR is not working either, otherwise I could get the DLR to Canary Wharf and come back one stop to North Greenwich.

You can get a bus from Stratford to Charlton, I use it regularly on Friday nights when I don't remember I'm supposed to get off at North Greenwich. No idea how long it takes as I'm normally pretty passed caring by that point.

It's the 108. You have to get off at either the flyover/East Greenwich library or at the Standard.

The gangster line between Stratford and North Woolwich shut about 15 months ago. It's been replaced by the DLR from Canning Town to London City Airport and a station called King George V (just around the corner from the old North Woolwich station) - it's this line they're extending to Woolwich Arsenal. It's much more frequent than the old line was, even if it's less, er, atmospheric...

Your best bet, like Stu says, is the good old 108 from Stratford bus station - goes close enough to Charlton (flyover/Westcombe Hill/ Standard) for you to wonder why you worried, or you can always jump off at North Greenwich and catch what you'd normally catch.
  • I'm gonna have to wrestle the car keys off the missus and give the drink a miss for the day. Otherwise it it'd be District Line to Bromley by Bow to catch the 108. It's years since I did that route!
