[cite]Posted By: Stu of SE7[/cite]IS, most people would probably be better gettin to North Greenwich and jumping on any of the 200 buses that go to Charlton from there. I do the journey in 40mins any time of the day, must be better than a poxy train.
Perhaps when the Jubilee Line becomes reliable again, but it's a hairy experience using that route at the moment, and North Greenwich station is bedlam at rush hour. It does my head in going that way.
Of course, the club could help matters by putting on a park-and-ride style bus between North Greenwich and Charlton when there's matches (it's in the planning application for ground expansion) - but that's a more general point about getting people to/from matches easily.
Suzi - I've not seen anything on the club website inviting any feedback after the initial mention that the Stoke match was moving; I thought they'd just decided on 7.45 and that was that.
They didn't invite feedback before it changed to 7.45, it just turned up so they thought they'd try it.
All I'm saying is, there have been lots of debates on here about the time difference, but I believe if the right people at the club don't read this forum, then how would they know? I do think it was on the end of a story too so will try to find that....
IS - I get the jubilee line daily now, after getting fed up with the shocking train service from Cannon Street, I personally find it a lot less hassle. Admittidly I do have my car at NG 3 out of 5 days a week, even so, the buses ain't too much hassle.
"Operations director Mick Everett said: "The problems with the A2 and the Blackwall Tunnel at the Stoke match meant we couldn't really fully assess the impact of the game kicking off 15 minutes earlier than has been customary.
"We are therefore going to extend the experiment for the Bristol City game.
"We can then assess events at both the games against Palace and Bristol. We will monitor the time supporters arrive at the ground and assess feedback from police, fans and other agencies before making a decision for the longer term."
Ah, I see. I'd have thought the fact that the traffic problems would have sent enough of a message to the club that the extra 15 minutes was rather handy...
Stu - your elbows are sharper than mine, clearly ;-)
Glad I am still here and not driving as usual if the Blackwall Tunnel is playing up.
What AFKA said re working hours, surely your guvnor will let you leave a bit early for the 3 or 4 midweek matches we play at home, make the time up another day.
This is the 7th home midweek home game so far this season. no more to come at home. only west brom and wolves at 4.45 and 5.20pm are different from 3pm saturday home kick off.
The beauty about the early finish tonight was the fact that I just got through the A2 roadworks as they were closing them down to one lane in the tunnel at Eltham and at the Darenth interchange. Probably saved me another 30 mins and a lot of sweat.
Wow, another thread about kick off times. I predit that a third of people prefer 7.45, a third prefer 8pm and the rest don't really care either way - it's a home match so they will be there!

I think the club are aware of this thru the magical process of osmosis whereby any issue is transmitted to them. Didn't you know that ; - )
All other factors are somewhat irrelevant.
Have you emailed the club about that...?
