Mate if he heard what I was saying about him on the way back to the hotel, it would have blistered the paintwork....sounds like the chats he had with the staff during the week had the right effect...good on him
[cite]Posted By: ct_addick[/cite]jury is out for me. Curbs could string a run of 4 or 5 wins. We haven't really done that in this division although we are capable of it.....
dude in the nicest possible way, curbs is west ham, move on ffs
I am still critical of him unless we go up this year. I would hate another season of no coverage for all those outside the kent area on line. And with the team we have we should be going up
to be honest I hate all this negativity about pards, we have had a complete overhaul of our team and we are still well up there, yes I know it is frustrating to lose against some of the lower teams of this division but lets just get over it, we are still in with a shout of promotion and if I'm honest if we were offered play-offs at the start of the season I would have grabbed it with both hands, so come on lets stop the negativity and get behind the team especially Mr Pardew

pards was pretty honest at the begining of the season, 2year plan, play offs this year would be great, we have a entirely brand new team playing for us, things take time. Just because you decided to move away doesnt make Pards a bad manager.
i can't see us making the automatics this season but if we hold on to a play off spot anything can happen.... if we had this whole squad next year i really think we'd put a much better season in than we have so far, but with so many loans in this season the squad could change quite alot.. sodje, youga, halford no guarantees of any of them being here next season for a start anyway 2 must win games coming up on at the valley e-i-e-i-e-i-o
[quote][cite]Posted By: cafc_in_perth[/cite]No matter where I am doesn't make any difference to Pards being a poor manager, why play Fortune for the blackpool game?[/quote]
If Pardew is a "poor manager" then perhaps you'd like to explain his record....
2000/01: Reading - Tier 3 Play Off Final runners up 2001/02: Reading - Tier 3 Champions 2002/03: Reading - Tier 2 Play Off Semi Finals 2003/04: West Ham - Tier 2 Play Off Final runners up 2004/05: West Ham - Tier 2 Play Off Final winners 2005/06: West Ham - 9th in Premiership & FA Cup Final runners up 2006/07: West Ham/Charlton - Relegated from Premiership on 2nd last game of season. 2007/08: Charlton - Tier 2 - In 5th spot with 11 games to go.
Hmmmm, doesn't really look like the record of a "poor manager" to me.
Maybe the reason he played Fortune at Blackpool is because Fortune was one of our strongest defenders in our really strong away run this year when he played with Sodje but, on that occasion at Blackpool Fortune had a mare and Pards got it wrong.
He did not get much wrong yesterday though, did he?
Hey, I think Blackpool was an all round poor display....some were worse than others but in the end none played to potential. I think Pards is sometimes a bit naive tactically, but he is certainly not poor as Ormistons post clearly shows.

Who would you suggest in his place then? His record speaks for itself, he is far from a poor manager.
Bougy is injured and who knows what could have happend to Sodje in that week leading up to the game and Fortune hasnt been that bad this season when played with the right person.
I didnt go to Sheff Wed but I got the impression from the radio commentary that Fortune had a bad game. Sodje was playing well before suspension/injury so it was a surprise to me that he wasnt brought in sooner ahead of Fortune and not at Blackpool.
Managers often say they dont want to disturb a settled side and then when something like Blackpool happens, they make a few changes for the betterment of the teams performance and hey presto the unsettled side get a result...makes a bit of a mockery of it really.

Exactly, of the managers in the CCC who would we rather have? Pards or who?
I'd also take Pards over most of the managers in the Prem, unless O'Neil, Wenger, Ferguson or Mourinho wanted to coach Charlton then I'm happy with Pards.

Well done today mister pardew!

Southampton Bristol Cardiff Preston
Only managed four wins on the trot twice this season in THIS division
Wins vs Bristol and Preston and we are on our way again. Need another 20 points for play offs minimum

Yes, after 35 games, let's see where they are after 46 games.
I think we have to beat them tomorrow,if we dont we wont catch em.
