what planet was he on ?
every time cook got the ball he was fouled and he only gave one . Their first looked offside and how did he not pull Shittpoo up for the various fouls yet give fouls for him when he is about 18 stone and kept falling over when touched by some of the smallest men on the pitch.
If the ref had have been Mr Singh today we'd have won 5-0

should stick to staying in round his mums
Share the same opticians as the ref?
Oh Roy, you do hate Charlton don't you
Honest, or trying to do the 'realist' bs?
i thought the ref was shocking may as well have put on a Yellow shirt.
If we have to play like that to go up then we should forget the football personally i would rather go up and play football when we get there. we had a number done on us in the second half fair play yes the ref didnt help but nor did we
on a plus dont cookie look good
Couldn't see from where I was whether their first was offside or not, but thought they had a decent shout for a penalty for a handball in the first half.
We bossed the first half, and they came strongly back into it in the second.
We can moan about decisions, but at the end of 46 games we'll finish where we deserve to be.
piss poor result whst ever way you look at it.
i thought we had a couple of lucky breaks with pens mate too be honest
yet we dont attack the ball enough as a front 2
Good things though is Lee Cook, Paddy Mac, Greg Halford, Luke Varney and Matt Holland, Zheng Zhi has set his standards very highly too and I can't actually knock the team. I thought Thomas looked disinterested thats the only sour part. ]
Oh and owing Medders an apple core
Second goal Shittu outmuscled Fortune I don't think it was any more of a foul than plenty of others that weren't given so no complaint from me for that one.
That said the ref gave them every 50:50 decision but that is still no excuse for chucking away a 2 goal lead.
At the risk of being asked if I'm Golfie in disguise play-offs at best now.
Good to have a brief chat to the Medway Massive afterwards.
Rectory Field next week?:-)
Roy, how unlike you - a negative post slagging off Charlton.
What would you have done then Reams, put on an extra defender? I suspect Pards made the point to the players about keeping things tight. As it happens we almost scored a third before they got their first. I felt that the problems stemmed from our failure to clear the ball out of defence to our own players. This mean't we were often hemmed in. Against Palace, Magic and Paddy found a Charlton shirt every time but it didn't happen today. Some of that was down to the physical strength of the Watford players, some of it was down to the Ref who seemed to penalise any 50/50 challenges against us, but some of that was down to bad play.
I'm sorry you had to listen to Merson but I can assure you it wasn't much fun at the ground.
Fortune was his normal self ie. mediocre.
We missed the magic of Bougherra's recent performances.
Agree about the ref, absolutely awful but actually his decisions on the goals looked ok, awaiting confirmatary evidence on ITV tomorrow. What is criminal is that they get a corner from our kick off .. what is that about!!!! Crass defending - does not come close to describing it.
Yes we're all disappointed, but the referee wasn't at fault for letting O'Toole run free from Smith's miskicked cross.
I don't know whether it was offside, and I couldn't see the second goal very well but it certainly looked like Shittu was all over his man.
I was very frustrated at the referee because every 50-50 went Watford's way and he played the game perfectly into their hands, giving them lots of soft free kicks within range of our penalty area.
We looked good at times when we played it on the floor, and even though we drew today, I've seen NOTHING in this league that suggests we aren't in the top two quality-wise.
Our consistency has been the problem all season, and will continue to be so until we can string good results together. Maybe this squad isn't good enough this year, but if we continue to grow into a team with a few shrewd acquisitions along the way, we can dominate this league next year if we don't go up.
Re: Reams' point, I don't think the problem was not going defensive, or shutting up shop, it was just a couple of minutes madness that cost us. The goals didn't come from breaks where we were pushing for the 3rd, they were goals that could easily have been scored in the first half, but better defending kept it out.
Merson is such a pro he couldn't even pronounce ZZs name...
