why would he come to charlton and what fact is he better than pardew
Has he got to the fa cup final and promotion from this league already and set the foundations for Reading to be where they are ???
Bollox absoulte Bollox Pardew should be given time to do what was needed at our club and that was rebuild from scratch and start again sorry to disillusion any one on here but the team was not prem class when he took over and it looks a lot better now than when curbs left it.
Lots of youth coming through and mainly because they know in Pardew they will get their chance
Listen i love this board but some things get on my goat,Reams thinks we got it wrong which is fair enough and Charlie thinks we blew it I agree (not the pards bit though) yet they get pelters for moaning.Yet i find it just as annoying reading the it will all be ok fred posts. The reason we are in our current position is we went up to scunny and lost and in the last week both Bristol City and Stoke have taken 3 points off the team bottom of the table. Some people on here would take the positive out of being relegated to the conference.Let people have their opinions but dont get personal
If he took over a team over paid mugs who didnt have the effort to work hard and earn their money in the prem, and sold nine first team players to rebuild would he do it in one season, NO he wouldnt no one could an absolute load of shite you have given as an example
Steve no excuses the team were shite at scunny poor decisions and lack of effort we both agreed that, i feel some people need to lay off pardew and give the players the rinsing not pards
dazza i agree but hand on heart do you think pards looks at charlton in the long term I really dont.I dont agree with the pards out brigade but Reams has got one hell of a point re Johnson he done wonders with Latvia,Yeovil and what he has done this year with Bristol CIty with the money he has spent is remarkable. So i agree with him on that point.Dont just poo poo what he says coz this geezer with his family background (reams this is being bought up with football) does know what he is talkin about and it isn't whether you agree with it or not a load of b**locks.
I am happy to give Pards another season no problem, whether he sees his future here is another thing.Yes he is re-building and i am happy to see him do it.
I beg to differ over whether you been to more games than me I have been an st holder for 20 years now and done my fair share of aways . you made the choice of living in wales no one else.
Name a manager better than pardew that we could get PAL
I've just got back. Disappointing though it was to lose a 2 goal lead, frankly we really didn't deserve to win. Helped by a referee who seemed to give every marginal decision to Watford, we really didn't get going apart from a short period in the first half around the time we scored our goals.
You could see why Watford have done well this season. Strong and dominant in the air, reasonable skill and well organised. On a different day, with a ref who let the game flow, we could/maybe should have won it, but not today. In the end I was happy with a point.
Still, there are still 39 points to win, string three wins together back to back and we'll be back in it again.
[cite]Posted By: Salad[/cite]I am not negative, but some posters seem to refute any non-positve comment and the abuse being aimed at reams seems totally out of order.
personally ream's views are more valid than mine with his families background.
we're all entitled to an opinion it would be a boring board if we agreed about everything.
Johnson obviously has something about him, Yeovil in the cup comes to my mind, but Pardew has undertaken a major rebuild. Yes he's made mistakes tactically but some of the football, our first goal today for instance, has been sublime.
Consistency is our problem and I'm not convinced changing the manager changes that.
[cite]Posted By: Reamsofverse[/cite]He took over at Ashton Gate and took them up in his 1st season now they are in with a chance of a double promotion, he's bought well and improved the players he inherited.
CAN WE SAY THE SAME OF PARDEW??
Actually Gary Johnson didn't take Bristol City up in his first season (he joined part way) but he inherited a wreck of a team and rebuilt, much like Pards is doing now.
Johnson won promotion the next season, finishing 2nd.
He's been able to keep that team together, with some sensible strengthening.
Give credit, he's built a team without stars and that workoholic team effort has produced the results that have impressed everybody so far.
But he's been building his team for a year longer than Pardew.
By the way, when I was at Bristol City in November, seeing Charlton play City off the park for long periods -
there was nobody there demanding Johnson out.
They lost 6-0 away the next match, too.
Maybe it's just our sense of expectation and the disappointment of watching a team that has only lost 2 matches from the last 10.
Guys, go and have a soak in the bath. Bit of Lionel Ritchie playing the background. Slap on the Brut, some Farahs and a pair of pointed shoes, and get yourselves down the local working mans club for a couple of pints of stout and a game of bingo. maybe get Gladys up for slow number.

Today's result was not good enough I do agree but we are not bloody Man U - Watford are above us for a reason.
Expectations are a joke - too many people worrid about their free ST and it is clouding judgements.
