    Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan, China's most populated province with over 100million people. It is called the 'city of abundance' and is situated in the west of the country, the natural habitat for 80 per cent of the world's giant pandas.

    The stadium used to be home to the Sichuan club, which went out of business in 2006, although ironically it's fans are claimed to be the most fanatical in the country. The stadium has 39,225 seats.

    I looked it up as a venue thing on the FA website. Can you tell me what the flag means in the stadium? Does it mean "Go Go Chengdu"??

    There are two Chinese characters on the flag.雄起which are prounced as XIONG QI.It means Come On which is used to encourage players scoring...

    I just went onto babelfish and 雄 起 came up as: "male gets up" though 进 展 meant "come on".

    These translator things do send out some great results!!!

    I see the Chengdu team are a part of Sheffield United?

    two characters on the flag 成都which is the name of the city Chengdu


    The white characters below 成都are我在这里等着你回来 等着你回来which means I am here waiting for you coming back,waiting for you coming back.It was the last game in 2007 season.There is once a premier league team in Chengdu called Sichua Quanxing,but It is went out of business in 2006.While another team Chengdu Club is in the second level league,so football fans are waiting Chengdu Club coming back to the premier league...Then after the last game of 2007 they really went up to the Premier league...
