He has formed a great partnership with Magic. It wasn't long ago that a collective shudder went around the ground when Magic had the ball and Paddy was being openly referred to as McCarthorse. People were slagging of Pards for two terrible signings. Oh how things have changed. What I like about Paddy is that he can play a bit as well, he isn't just a hoofer. I like that alot. I like the fact that both he and Magic clear the ball to red shirts time after time and turn defence quickly into attack.
[cite]Posted By: LenGlover[/cite]Not sure he could cut it in the Prem but his attitude is excellent and at this level he can do a job particularly against the big lumps.
Not sure either. Time will hopefully tell on that one.
So much of composed play is down to confidence. At the moment both Magic and Paddy look really confident. A lot of credit for this turn around must go to Pards who kept faith with them, having played them with no real choice due to injury's/suspension and instead of bringing back Fortune or Sodje, he stuck with them and they've gone from strength to strength.
One of the reasons i didn't like him at first was because he played full back for the first few games and didn't have brilliant pace but now he is one of our top players who gives his all every week.
Ross, great words and spot on, I like centre halves that live by those, he certainly has recently, and not too shabby on the ball either, he's got a look about him that says don't f**k with me as well.

I think we were right to doubt him, he was awful, what amazes me is the turnaround. I can't remember any player who has started their career at the Valley so basdly and been able to turn it around. I see him as very much a Simon Webster / Eddie Youds figure. If we don't make it in to the Prem. then don't be surprised to see him take the arm band next season.
He came to us with a reputation from Leicester message boards for rash tackles and easy yelow cards, if this was the case he has certainly improved on this.

I can!!!! Bob Bolder had a couple of terrible performances when he came to us in 1986 and ended up a Charlton legend. Stuart Balmer scored two own goals early on ended up a decent player for us and Simon Webster was quite poor in the first half of his first season 1990/91 but improved hugely in the second half of the year and by 1991/1992 was our best player.
