Tonight

edited February 2008 in General Charlton
Personally, I thought we were fookin awesome tonight. Best I've seen us play since we came down I think. Varney took his goals really well, I thought Youga was brilliant and ZZ was (ahem) tops :o).

Haven't seen it but I spoke to me mam and she told me me Colin Wanker was going on about them being robbed - t*** - they were lucky it wasn't a proper shoeing. I have to admit I was a bit nervous when we hadn't scored by halftime, but in all honesty we outclassed them and though I was relieved when we finally did score the result easily flattered them. Went back on the train with some of Croydon's finest - they were all pretty good natured about it really. Some of their pondlife were being given the run around by the OB at London Bridge, but I had a reasonably pleasant journey. Most of them seemed to be of the opinion that we'll go straight up - so even though they were palace scum they at least seemed a bit more intelligent than the average spanner would have been in the same situation :)

I agree Leroy, Palarse offered nothing, their attack was slow and dealt with really well by our back four. It made me laugh when they brought on an injection of pace in Kuqi and Freedman!!

I though some of our football was classy just a little moan at the end product from Sam and Ambrose. One of these days everything will click and we will wallop somebody.

Weaver - nothing much to do, a couple of regulation saves

Youga - Brilliant definitely Prem Class,
    Magic and Paddy - Superb
    Halford - excellent debut

ZZ - must be knackered but played his heart out
Matty - yet another excellent performance

Sam - lots of endeavour - needs to improve end product
Ambrose - effort excellent - not enough offered at the sharp end

Grey - really skillful link up play, also won quite a few headers, excellent pass for first goal
Varney - really lively - could have had a hat-trick, also got wide well on occasions, took goals really well
  • Good summary bing.
  • i thought we utterly murdered them football wise.we completely cut them apart at times and i can't think of an effort they had on goal.the second half palace started with purpose but without any finish.i would go with bing's player assessment though i would downgrade magic and say that sam was poor.

a great evening though,we need the second for the crowd who i thought were very nervous.i was sat near the palace fans and couldn't really hear the covered end choir that much.
