    I agree.
  • Top bloke....hope he gets the recognition
  • He's a fantastic player, and has really flourished since Holland came back into the team.
  • Still cant see what the fuss is still to be honest.

Sorry, just my opinion, if he could complete a 15/20 yard pass, he would be a good player in my eyes but until he improves that final ball the jury is still out for me.

  • From the official site:

Charlton's Zheng Zhi was pipped to the post for January's Powerade Championship Player of the Month award on Monday night.

The China international captain scored three goals last month to take his tally for the season to nine, and was nominated for the award alongside Cardiff City's Joe Ledley, Burnley's Robbie Blake and Norwich City's Dion Dublin.

In the end, however, talented midfielder Ledley took top spot, with striker Blake second and Zheng finishing a creditable third.

The awards, sponsored by Powerade, the official sports drink of The Football League, are designed to recognise the top performances on a monthly basis in each level of the Coca-Cola Football League.

Zheng, the first Chinese player to represent the Addicks, is currently with his international teammates in Dubai ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Iraq on Wednesday night.

The midfielder, who can also play in defence or as a second striker, signed a permanent two-year deal at The Valley two days before the start of the new campaign after initially impressing in a loan spell last season when he played 12 games, scoring once against Newcastle United.
  • A donkey like Robbie Blake is just a second tier journeyman who has been around seemingly for ever now.

Even if he was Chinaman, can't imagine him taking ZZ's place in the China team - let alone as skipper.
