Salmon injured knee ligaments while making a save and was replaced in goal by Steve Brown at half-time. Newtons departure was due to ankle ligament damage and Symons broke his nose in the first half following and accidental elbow from Chapple.

Never forget Steve Jones' equaliser (and his corking opener) and winding up the City supporter who'd just given me the 'cut your throat' signal a minute earlier when they'd taken the lead. I also was glad to jump straight on the coach too. Not that it stopped us giving it the large to the disgruntled home fans....classic!!!
