fine line ?
Its a time and performance thing really./ If he starts to live up to expectations then it will be confidence, if he does not, like Thomas, then its arrogance. In a way it is both, if Thomas performed to the level we know he can then it would be acceptable arrogance, but as he only ever seems to be running in third gear, its a case of asking what has he got to be arrogant about.
BTW. Presumably when he was at The Hamlets he was not a full time footballer, does anyone know what he did for a living?
To be honest it was a pretty easy chance, he could have gone either side of the keeper or even over the top of him. Should never have got to the stage where going down for a pen was an option. He just looked a little bit casual to me.
That said, fair play to him for getting there in the first place and it's easy to criticise from my sofa, not so easy to take these 'easy' one on one chances. I'm happy with Dickson, from what I've seen of him the goals will come.

AFKA, look at his demeanour, from what I've seen, he has a happy dispositon rather than the other two who appear surly.
During the West Brom match at the Valley, I was sitting near the dugout and Chris was warming up. He just had the biggest smile on his face you could imagine. In the second West Brom match, he looked really pleased to be playing and really tried to big us up during Penalties. We warm to that kind of attitude - it appears to show that he cares and he's really up for it. Added to that, his expressed desire to succeed is refreshing and enthusiastic and we dub him as "confident".
Thomas and Bent do not seem to burn with enthusiasm much of the time. They appear grumpy and unfriendly and we interpret that as an "I'm above all this" kind of arrogance. To be fair, both are capable players who, under the right circumstance, can be extremely effective but you feel as if they only do it when they feel like it and on their terms.
