a third of the way there

and still no new players !.

I know that Pardew & the board are seeking new blood and are probably doing their utmost to secure a new singing or two, but I did post at xmas that I didn't think we would have anyone new in by the time the Blackpool game came around.

will I be proved right ???

Pardew is on record saying the crowd should give the team a life - well he could do something about it and I'm a firm believer in getting a new player in in time for a home game. Next 3 are away (WBA, Watford, Peterborough ) and so if we sign anyone after saturday then Tues 29th will be the first time most supporters would see them. What a lift it would give the fans if a new player was paraded on Saturday (god forbid they actually played !) and may get the team going for those opening 10 mins or so.

It not as if this is new - we knew since mid Dec that we need a midfield player to help/replace Reidy and as his return is likely to be another month can we really go another 3 or 4 games without a creative player ?? - remember, since he has been out of the team we have gone DDDL, compared to our vistors Blackpool who have gone WWWD.

I even admit I was wrong - i posted then that I thought over the xmas period we would get 4 points.....it was only 3 !!!!!!!! If things don't change I feel more lost points on the way.

lol- probbaly find an annoucement on the OS now, saying that we have signed Mick Fleetwood !!!!!!!

  • although I don't totally agree with your concerns I must admit that I am a tad surprised that there hasn't been any movement yet. However, play 4-4-2 on Saturday and play as we did against WBA then we'll beat the Seasiders. Expect a couple of signings in before the Watford game then.
  • This is a very poor windup by your high Standards GolfAddick you must do better 2 out of 10.
  • *looks at thread, realises it's a bad wind up, leaves thread*
  • read thread title new what it was goin to be about saw last comment was from rothko expected him to cane golfie, but quite a tame effort that's the only surprise for me.
  • in a way i agree though, i'm very suprised we haven't manage to agree anything yet, though i think that's more a reflection on the slow market and our lack of funds to push things through, rather than an un-willingness to bring people in.
  • yeh, right......slow market.

Luton effectively had a first come, first served policy. Millwall took up the offer to have the player they had on loan, Wolves saw an opportunity a bagged someone as did a few others. We, on the other hand ???

just playing devils advocate - those on here that know me well (Large, Jimmy Melrose etc) know that one thing I don't do is hold back. I'm more shop steward than management material as I say the things other would like to but don't.Sometimes this gets me into trouble, but I'd rather that than be part of the crowd that wish they had mentioned something, but didn't.
  • Golfie. I was just wondering, what Charlton related issue is bothering you the most today?
  • Just supposing we HAD bought someone from Luton the usual suspects would be moaning that we were ....trying to do it on the cheap.....why are we getting lower league players when we want promotion.... McLeod's a lower league player so why haven't we learnt our lesson.... blah, blah, blah!!
  • Havn't heard me moan about Mcleod or Dixon - neither have been given a chance yet.

Dean sinclair on the other hand.......pah !
  • It's Dickson not Dixon.........pah!
