Faith being restored

After emailing our Supporters director (Ben) last night i recieved a response within and hour and the promise that he shall take up my compalint about the attitude of some of the players to their young supporters.

I then recieved an Email from Aaln Pardews Pa

which reads as

Dear Darren

I have been forwarded your email via Ben Hayes.

I work at the training ground and have got to know these players rather well. The players you mention are by nature very courteous and very well mannered young men. However, I can fully understand why you and your son was upset and when I speak to them today I know that they will be very apologetic.

I am not condoning what they did but I feel that, in their defence, they were in a no win situation. After the performance on Tuesday they like everyone else would have been extremely disappointed with the result and their own personal performance. The booing crowd at the end of the match left that in no doubt. I believe their intention was not to avoid the supporters but if they were seen signing autographs, smiling etc., other fans might have interrupted that as arrogance.

Could you let me know when you are next coming to The Valley?

all sounds like the complaint could be being raised to the players

but what i will say is that this is the fastest i have ever known any complaint i have raised to anyone being looked into and for that I tip my hat to Ben and Connie a big thankyou so far

My turn to pick the team this week so watch us go. I think David White picked it against Colchester so blame him ; - )

    fair comment.
  • good to hear. A complaint dealt with efficiently and quickly and an explanation given.

Perhaps I should have complained when 'Killer' told me to 'F off' when I asked for an autograph (aged 12ish).

Or about what Tony Cascarino said to you at Welling : - )

So they're now getting a bollocking from charlton's PA... motivational stuff that is. I'd probably laugh if i were them.
  • No probs Ben thanks for the speedy response
  • Don't forget, Pards has still yet to receive the letter you posted.......

I'm impressed that Ben & Connie acted so promptly. I wonder if you'll receive any contact from Pards himself?

If you get a response, could you have a quick word in his ear about tactics playing at home?
Plenty of advice, he'll be pleased to learn, on here. :o)

Only kidding. But encouraging to learn we are still a community club and people there care.
  • Can we have a "Connie, Connie, Connie..." chant at the weekend?
