I haven't been able to post for 4 weeks now due to computer crapness. But i was actually excited about coming back on this board and reading what people have been up to and stuff. I clicked up 5 threads and they are all sooo miserable. think ill stay away abit longer!
Nearly ALL of the moans i have seen on here remind me of when West ham where in the championship last. I think they were doing a lot worse than us. Pards out, players dont care, our fans are rubbish blah blah. Look where they ended up ffs. Cup final, promotion, Europe that's where.
What i mean is all teams go through bad spells for god sake. 7 points from top with nearly half the season to go aint too bad really when you look at the likes of Leeds.
yes we could improve a little but jesus crist there's alot bigger clubs than us in this division and we need to start remembering how bad things can really get.
Charlton til i die!!!

Anyone who's been around a while will have seen us an hour from going bust, losing The Valley, getting hammered at Halifax LOL and things much worse than getting beat once in four games.
Peeps, this is a non-crisis!
Could not have said it better myself, things could be a lot funking worse, took the spammers two seasons remember boys and girls.
And even better news is I have drunk myself through my NYE hangover
"To be sure, it's the way I tell'em........."
Cheers, Ooaah.
"We are staying up....!" ;o)
1971 - relegated to Div Three (Now Div One)
1980 - relegated to Div Three again
1984 - wound up in high court - two minutes from extinction
1985-92 - left the Valley for Sellout Park, then Upton Park during which time crowds dwindled to 5,000 average
We are 5th in the league, average over 20,000 a game, have one of the best young managers around, have a fantastic ground with excellent facilities and real Charlton fans running the club.
Three weeks ago against Ipswich we played some of the best football for some years. Don't you think that some of the negativity on here because of some iffy results caused, at least to some extent by players getting themselves suspended and others being injured/not fully fit is a little misplaced?
Don't worry, be happy!!
But I don't really want to spend my day so angry with the world - when in a few weeks time things could easily be very different.
And the truth is: this is no crisis. We just lost a football match.
That's all.
The main problem is managing expectations. The facts are that the club has had completely rebuild the team capable of getting up whilst halving its costs to stop it going bust; all within a matter of months. It is made worse by the knowledge that you need to keep costs at a sustainable level if you fail to go up. If anybody thinks that is easy, have a word with fans of Leicester, Palarse, Coventry, Leeds, Ipswich, Norwich, Notts Forest, to name a few, who have all failed thus far, to achieve this. It looks as though West Brom might do it but they couldn't manage it in the first year.
I am certain that everybody within the club is striving every sinew to make it happen. Lets give them some credit for getting us to the transfer window still in a play off place and within striking distance of Promotion spot.
Come on get behind Pards and the boys!!!
I remember standing in the Cupboard end back in the day, sitting in the Cupboard End as we scored two late goals to bear Bournemouth in the Cup, beeing handed a piece of paper the day we played Palarse, traipsing to Sellout against Sunderland and going to Sellout rather than Norwood by mistake and it took ages, trying my damnest to get a ticket for the first game back, even though I had been one of those poor sods over at Sellout against Bradford in the Anglo-Mickey Mouse Cup thingy, losing to Orient in the League Cup when Gurnham Singh copped the hump and gave them a 88thmin penalty, being so proud when we signed Allan Simonsen!!!!! Going to Bristrol City in the Cup and seeing lads of Millwall/ Wst Ham in our end, being one of the 85 at Grimsby, watching Vince have a go at all of the 5000 glory boys four days later at Anfield, going to holmfirth, three times in a week when we played Huddersfield, Oldham and Liverpool, being scared that we would throw it away against Brum on that Sunday afternoon when we were 4-1 up, getting home from Barnsley in 2 hours after my mate drove at 110 all the way to Central London, actually shedding a tear at Sellout when Palarse had beaten us in the playoffs, being so drained at Wembley, going to Newcastle to see Rufus sent off but we held on, watching us beat Chelski 4-2 us being 4th in the table and not realising it could get no better ...
But I am now disallusioned. Maybe the fact that I am 27 means I have other priorities, maybe its footbal in genaral, money, twats, the media, I just cant believe some of the displays I have seen this season. And I have seen some shite over the years ...
I thought that was Alf Bushk or whatever his name was.
Its because you care mate. We all have our own ways of coping with crap. I couldn't go against Colchester and spent the day with my Palarse loving brother-in-law. Imagine how shitty I felt. I just feel there's little to be gained by remaining miserable. The players will be hurting as will the manager and we need to get behind them. The other way lies more misery.
Losing to Nillwall 2 v 0 at The Valley which almost meant we went 2 division 3 , one week later thumped 5 nil at Blackpool and down .

Standing in my tree for the first home game back at The Valley and being totaly out of my tree after the game !
The football and the players aintworth a monkeys Fart at the moment. Would be nice to go for the football but we SUPPORT CAFC. Its the club , the mates, the laughs and the moans ITS CHARLTON !!!!!
now that's a big MAYBE;-)
It always used to really wind me up reading all the moaning, but it's just their way of showing how much they care about CAFC at the end of the day & that is a good thing, they do give a stuff about what happens to the club, which is nice to know. Perhaps the time to worry is when people stop moaning ?
Actually that's spot on Kets and put much better than my last post.
