After a lovely weekend including a good day out saturday for the game my ideallic life has been shattered by the comments on this board. I'm not sure what game some of you guys watched and most of you obviously didnt go to the game but it was without question a great advertisement for Championshp football, Charlton actively played their part in it, all the WBA supporters I spoke to over a couple of pints after the game were unanimous in saying that is the best they have played all season and we are by far and away the best team they have met. Matt Holland was superb, a couple of our players were below their best which cost us but hey thats football. I still have very little, if any, doubt we will finish in the top two and saturday certainly didnt alter that in fact it most probably hardened my opinion. Yes everyone has got differing views but blindly blathering on inanely about something doesnt make it an opinion. Rant over.

We came away from the game saying it was a great game, proper end to end and could of gone either way. People just love a moan don't they!
I think we will definately be up there by May, but that will be dependent on signing a premiership class centre half and a striker who will score goals in this league. Without them two, we may continue to be 'the team that everyone makes their best performance against'.
i think that is gonna be our most important signing cos i think sodje's form has dipped off a bit and he maybe not as good as was first thought , great in the air but a bit suspect positionally with players running at him and between fortune and bouggy there's always gonna be the odd mistake.... is primus out of the frame at pompey???
Yes it was a very entertaining game and the best team on the day won.
We played without 3 of our current "best" defenders, our playmaker and leading scorer went off injured during the game but we still managed to score.
Varney and McLeod linked up well and McLeod certainly showed that with match practice he could be a goal scorer.
If Basey, Thatcher & Gibbs are going to be out we need a left back, Chrissie just can't play game after game.
We need to sign Mills for the rest of the season.
We are still only 4 points off the top and if AP gets some money and uses it wisely there is no reason why we shouldn't finish in the top two.
Finally a pat on the back to every supporter who was at West Brom - bloody cold but we made ourselves heard.
UP THE ADDICKS
Thought we dominated 25 mins of the game but unfortunately WBA had the rest of it. Shame about Powelly but he is too old and we don;t have any other option at the moment. Me and Ketman were saying that it was great that McLeod (who played very well) got a goal and we were really happy for him, surprisingly, even the 15 year olds who were calling him a c*nt before he even came on celebrated the goal...
As for the racist pr***'s stood behind us at the game, you really need to take a long look at yourselfs. I am not generally an angry or violent person, but really wanted to clobber a couple of them in the second half. Looked round for them with five minutes to go & the group of them must have been about ten had all gone, great support lads!
They made the coach journey the most tedious hours of my life. And I'd imagine, judging from some of their conversations, they would've been the racist ones as well. Absolute, 100%, grade-A twats. Haven't got the coach to an away game before and I don't think I ever will again.
One of them was wearing glasses, utter knob, and had a face you could quite happy hit hard with a top of the range Woodworm bat
Banging on the coach windows calling 10 year old kids with parents c**nts for daring to look up! Get a life lads!!
i did point out that they were fekking disgusting but realised i was with Stu and didnt want him to get his head kicked in on my behalf.
i always come away with the hump from away games.
They don't act that way at home games in the main
Perhaps those kind of people deter some of the decent fans from travelling away?
i'm definitely guilty of a bit of lairy drunken behaviour at football and there's nothing wrong with that or taunting the oppo (not families, but those who are making themselves look hard) as long as it doesn't get out of hand and ruin the experience of others
in the vast majority though, we as a fanbase get it good, our problems are nothing like the sort of vermin that follows other clubs (living in the north and being a regular traveller with the man united lot, i'd know this - best away support in the country but i wouldn't be buying any of them a beer put it that way). The fact our odd minor incident a season raises so much debate backs this claim up.
it's a shame that the youngsters do tend to get a bad rep from some as at some games this season, cardiff and coventry immediately spring to mind, their noise and support held all the others together and often 90% of everything is coming from this group of a few dozen.
and race is never something you should involve unless it is in private humour with people who are comfortable with it, ie. mutual banter
