Penny for the Guy ?

edited November 2006 in General Charlton
Or more likely a quid these days.

Perhaps trick or treat has just taken over. (Don't recall celebrating it back in my day)

Used to luv making the guy, wheeling him to me pitch after school, usually outside STC in FootsCray when the evening shift changed (or outside the bus garage for those that'll remember ) , and on saturday, stood outside the bookies and the Red Lion.

And then burn the bugger a few days later

Problem was I used to spend all the money on sweets and chips before I got home.

Just don't seem to see them around these days, we should keep up these olde english traditions.

Anybody seem one ?

Good call Dave, outside a train station would be good, though i reckon you might get a few funny looks at your age ?
  • Still see one or two around outside the co-op near where I live, but not many.
  • There were two kids outside Blackheath station with one in a push chair.

    Proper old skool!!
  • The 'guy' or the kid in the pram?
