    What would you choose dude?
  • Charlton would come first usually, but i'd let charlton take a loss at the weekend england go through, if it was a toss up, like someone asked last season for charlton to stay up/go up and england qualify then it'd be charlton every time. One loss for Charlton wouldn't make that much difference at the moment I don't think.

if England don't go through tonight, I'd forget about it pretty much till the actual competition and find it annoying that we weren't in it, but it probably wouldn't affect me that much, but if charlton suffer its a whole different ball game.
  • in the short term i'll have england winning tonight over us beating preston to be honest.

if it was a choice between england going through tonight and winning Euro 2008 and us finishing 7th or england going out tonight and us getting promoted then it would be Charlton every time, but that wasnt the question!

    copy cat
  • Seeing as I'm driving there and back on Saturday, I'll have to go with Charlton.
  • Charlton win. Who really cares about that bunch of muppets led by that imbecile McLaren? I lost interest in the national team after the FA butchered Venables for not being the "right sort" after he had us playing our best stuff for years.

i'm not sure it is a tuff one the thought off spending a summer without england in euro 2008 is horrible but it is cafc and i think we do need to keep this run going before watford get to far away.

    ohh i dont know
  • stupid question CAFC end of.
  • Charlton to win

    I

  • Charlton for me, I'm extremely patriotic but the bigger picture is I spend all my time and money following Charlton not the national side.

One point well worth remembering is that upon entering the pub this summer if Eng-er-land don't qualify you will be able to sit down and watch the football without the hassle of not being able to get a space/seat because there is a bird in it with her mates who are only there because they are sniffing for cock.

Beg my pardon girls on here!!!
  • England although if it was a choice of promotion or England it would be an entirely different matter
  • England tonight, CAFC can afford to take a knock on Saturday and still win the league.
  • England for me, could not stand a summer of us not being involved in a tournament even if it does end in failure.
  • No contest ENGLAND.
  • England for me as well. Qualification for a major championship versus an average league game is not a fair comparison.

If it was England to win the European Championship, or Charlton to win the League, it would be Charlton every time.

yeah was listening to 5live last night they asked the same question to some football league fans and nearly all of them said their club team so got me wondering.
  • I'd go for England to qualify, one match vs Preston won't hit our promotion chances too hard if we lose.
  • Whats the point if we qualify we will get us far as the quarter finals, lose then everyone will slag off the manager and players.Same old story.

Sorry BFR I cannot agree, what if we miss out on automatic promotion by three points in May? Will we still enjoy Euro '08 then? I sure as bloody hell won't.

  • I'm of the option that qualifing isn't a good thing, just covers up the gaping cracks in the England set up

And some will have already started before a ball is kicked, eh Steve...

    England every time kiddies.

Not qualifying will not resolve anything Rothko I'm afraid as our FA are far too far up their own backsides to make effective changes. Not qualifying will cause greater harm as we'll be forced into playing Friendlies instead which as everyone acknowledges are pointless!
  • So we qualify, the manager stays, the wasters of players keep beliving there own hype, the tabloids big it up again.

Better to have the blood letting now, and get things in place for the World Cup qualification campaign
  • Do you think a new manager would be given five minutes by the press if he dropped Rooney and Owen, or Gerrard for anyone else, Crouch gets enough of a slagging, and he scores plenty.
  • It don't matter whose Manager at the end of the day, he'll get slated. A new Manager comes in the press give him one game & they start the cycle all over again.

We should know as Charlton Fans the only long term results you get is when you stick with the Manager ala Ferguson Wenger & dare I say it Curbs !
