One of the leading lights of the Valley Party, the single-issue party formed by Charlton supporters to contest the 1990 Greenwich Council elections, has died. Kevin Fox was 75.
He polled almost a thousand votes, more than any other Valley Party candidate, in Sherard ward against the then leader of the council, cllr Quentin Marsh.
His son David said: "He had an uncanny ability to engage with people from all walks of life. "During the build-up to the election, he visited every single residence within Sherard Ward - even though he was working full-time as a sales director in the print industry.'

Where did you get to with your proposal for selecting a game (once a season) when there would be a minute's silence for all fans that have passed away?
Very sad indeed. Been agreed by the board that it will happen and be a minutes applause. I'm hoping it will be a game early in the new year.
It was for people such as Kevin and other such as Maurice Banham who, with no disrespect to them, wouldn't warrant a minutes silence/applause but who in this way can still be remembered at a game.
i didn't know him personally but i seem to recall him receiving a heroes welcome in the white hart, eltham on the election night.
RIP
Rest in peace Kevin, you've a place in Charltons history.
RIP and forever to be remembered for a tireless effort.

RIP Kevin.
Kevin was a real character and the effort he put into the Vally Party was typical of anything he was involved in.
Anyone who drank in the White Hart in Eltham when it was a decent pub would have known Kevin. He enjoyed life and was someone who I enjoyed having many conversations with over the years.
Our thoughts are with you and your family.
