8pm for me just gives me that extra 15mins to get thru the blackwall tunnel

surely that should read 'doesn't make any difference' otherwise it would make some difference although technically that would be correct because there would be 15 mins difference ?
  • you West London types ain't familiar with the local dialiect, innit.

    changed.
  • Leave work at half 5 and I'm normally in the Con Club by 6.30 so doesn't really make much difference to me.
  • Prefer 8pm. But then i only have to go through blackwall tunnel and im home so cant complain either way.
  • I'd prefer 7:15/7:30 but then i live quiet close.
  • 7.45 as I am over the ground at that time and would rather get home earlier.

Plus if I do go by train, with the way the connections are it could mean getting home at 11.15 or 12.15.

Might have a different opinion if I am stuck in the Blackwall Tunnel at 7.30 for the Sheff Utd game though.
  • 7:45 as I have to get the bus home
  • 7.45 as i'm not allowed out later than 10

  • 8.00 (12.00 for me) - means I can sneak out for lunch (from work) at one point to listen/watch the game.

If I am over there then 8.00pm to get more proper beers down me.
  • 7:45, more chance of getting to the local curry house after the game!
  • Even though it means I probably won't get home til after midnight, I'd still rather 8pm. I work in West London and don't get out til 6, so an 8 o'clock kick off is usually OK unless the tube is utterly stuffed, but 7:45 is a bit too tight for comfort.
  • 7.45 so time for a top up on the way home!

    so, so far (when i posted this), that's 15 + 18 + 17 = 51 votes ?????
  • Coming from Norwich, I have to leave half way through the afternoon anyway so the earlier start would be better as I can get home a bit earlier after the game.
  • The results so far are what I pretty much thought.

A third prefer the early start.
A third prefer the late start.
A third don't really give a toss either way!
  • It's actually pathetic that the club changed the time a few years ago, so we all change things to accommodate (like work schedules etc) and now because some muppets up North in Maidstone complain, they move the time back again.

Finishing work at 5/ 5:30 ... your having a laugh. That 15 minutes makes alln the difference.

Personally they can sod right off ...
  • if the game is going to be on at 8 if we're on sky anyway, so people have to accomodate, i think the club were doing people a favour by keeping it at 8 for consistency considering the last time they asked for opinion it was 50/50 for 7.45 or 8pm.

keeping it at one time, surely saves everyone asking "what time is k/o"?

I remember once we were down the anchor asking what time k/o was, either 12.45 or 1pm, and some people missed the first goal (curb it? can you remember this game?)
  • It's a no win situation for the club. As soon as you ask people their views you only increase the disappointment levels if those views aren't put into practice. Big issues - fine, maybe. Kick off times - nah.

Just tell us what time the game is and we'll be there - same as we always are.

Up north in Maidstone? Seems the only Muppet round here is the one with shocking geography ;)
  • But fast trains stop at Bastard (poshville) and thats where the bus goes from ;)
  • it says on the os that our home game against Stoke at the end of Jan is a 19:45 kick off. Bet that is a mistake though!
  • just realised the Stoke IS a 19:45 kick off! lol

The connecting bus might go from Bar Steward - but the dormitory town is not closer. Plus I wouldn't particularly call southeastern trains fast

Sorry quite right faster or should that be less slow ;)
  • What Riscardo said
  • In light of the imminent change, i'll chuck this poll back up for those that didn't vote before
  • 8pm suits me better
  • doesn't really bother me.
just means 15 mins in the pub either pre or post match.
