Don't see what the problem is? The M25 was a nightmare apparently after someone was killed by the Dartford tunnel at around dawn. What was Ambrose supposed to do - hail a passing helicopter or demand a police escort?
[cite]Posted By: AFKA Bartram[/cite]like many others, yes he did.
M25 was severely disrupted on Saturday.
it begs the question then as to what time the players are told to turn up for...it must be close to kick off and not 2 or 3 hours before...dont they have matchday dietary programmes etc etc etc?...

if it had been a problem before he set out then what's wrong with doing what most of the fans do and go to the ground by public transport ?...23,000 of us managed to get there in time...

it's the first time i have ever heard of this kind of thing happening to one of our players - so i would say it's not something worth getting in a tizzy about - the matchday system they have in place must be working well
the players are only human, things like this will happen
[cite]Posted By: Medders[/cite]Never been late for work LTGTR?
once or twice, though luckily the twenty three thousand people in the office and live tv cameras that were expecting to see me push a pen didn't moan about it...
the M25 from essex was mainly clear, a little sticky over the QE2 bridge, so that can't be the reason unless he doesn't live in ipswich and comes from the south west to have hit the traffic
I read that the reason he was late was that he lives near Ipswich and had traffic problems........now, I have no idea where he lives, but if it is anywhere along the A12 then surely the best route to the ground would be straight along the A12 towards London and then A13 B'well tunnel, or better still A12 to the M25 (j28) and turn right and go 1 junc to jM11 (j27) and straight route through to b'wall tunnell.
He needs to get himself an Road Atlas and a London A-Z. Pillock
any charlton fan that was at sellout park the night we played bradford when robert lee lost a contact lens and had to leave the pitch because there were no spares at the ground knows that its the bleeding obvious that nobody plans for that can stuff up your game...

Players are fined if they turn up later than 1.00pm

yes, but apparently in this day and age, players are allowed to eat at home.

so, in theory, a whole weeks training could be undone by someone's missus whacking something in the microwave to save a bit of time...
Please don't try and mix common sense with something LTGTR has a bee in his bonnet about..... :-)

I'm sure he probably was caught in the traffic... get over it... people are late sometimes.
pathetic even talking about it.

We might need to review this fining system ...
LOL sorry that's for the 3.00pm KO's
It was. I come from North Essex, 20 miles from Ipswich. I managed to get there in plenty of time and I didn't even know about the trouble at Dartford.
