One of the few bright spots today. He has a good left foot and appeared to want to be there.

Only negative is that he seems to lack a bit of pace.

Put some decent crosses in, nice to see a couple of guys come through the ranks...give them a chance I say, shame we don't have a young striker knocking around.

    We do. He's at Gillingham.
  • thought he did well,if the others dont pull their fingers out blood some more.
  • As good a debut as you could expect to see from a young left back. Good first-time crosses. Got caught out of position a couple of times but very promising.

thought he was fantastic - yeah got shown for pace a couple of times but hey he can't beat everyone.

His distributuion was first class - attitude everything - made myself and Large who bigged him up right to do just that as well.

He kept it simple, never took risks and read the game pretty maturely for someone so inexperienced.

Pards was pleased with him - but said he would have liked him to get forward more, as that is a major part of Basey's game.

The important thing here, is that Basey is a left footed, left back playing in position.
Which meant that there is little disruption; Mills and others can then play in their own positions.

LOL. Not sure 'young' is a word you could use for Mr Dickson ;-)

I thought he looked bright, bit slow but has a good engine and he will only get better

In our top 3 performers yesterday.
For a debut, thats pretty good. Has a he got the consistency though.......? he'll need to prove that in the next few games.

Thought Basey was the only bright spot about yesterday, and i think recalling Dickson has to be done this week, hes gotta be given a chance surely?!

Really good 20 times better for us than when i see him play for Brentford the other week
  • i thought his crosses were crap, he had plenty of time and space and can't recall any of them reaching one of our players but that might be down to the forwards

It must be hard to cross when the fowards can't be bothered to get into space.

thought he did o.k, but did look exposed when defending one on one....the winger went past him on more than one occasion.

Perhaps you have to give the winger credit for doing his own job well.

Basey is 18 with very little experience - and surely nobody expects him to be the finished article?

On the day, he probably played more effectively than Mills.

Good debut in my eyes. He looks big and strong for his age and whilst not the quickest he certainly has a sweet left peg.

His technique of striking the ball was spot on and I have high hope for him - our very own Gareth Bale

PS - YES - he is a dead ball specialist but sadly will not get a sniff while Reidy is in the team
