So long as they were still true Charlton then yes. If it were a franchise job I'd have to think long and hard about it and I'd like to think the answer would be no.
Charlton can move to Kent and then they can get the sodding cricket team to run round the pitch with the 2020 cup. All the Men of Kent can stand and clap.
I won't be there .... I'll go and support Spurs ... 40 years of hurt

Spurs? Now you're showing your true colours, Rothko.
Why not be a proper plastic - get yourself a Manure or Chelsea shirt. ;-)
You could always go and watch the training at Sparrows Lane.
Nearest thing to the 'old' Valley before they move to Kings Hill.
Massive NO to kent!!!!
And we don't have the need for a new ground. still plenty of redevelopment to be done here.
We are hardly ever going to need 60,000 are we ?
move to a new state of art ground in greenwich or buy the houses around the valley, build new stands with underground car park. Casinos water slides attached Fantastic maybe this new investor is going to eventially do this when they show their faces.
[cite]Posted By: nolly[/cite]what i love about the valley is its unique, not some naff new staduim with a tinny look.
Exactly Nolly, we are proud of OUR home, something WE helped build and somewhere that will always be in OUR hearts. Not some shiny, poxy cardboard ground full of plastics!!!!

Now that would make you a REAL Addick. ;-)
Sasha didnt say that I did ... I said Spurs because I was born in Sven Sisters which makes them my nearest team. My Mum always says that if we hadnt moved South when I was 4 I would have been a Spud.
If CAFC was in Bermondsey and Millwall FC in Charlton - what team would you support....After considering if my aunt had bolleux she would be my uncle....Discuss....
if the club did move away, and with a base in kent and a new owner one day, the possibility of moving away has to be taken seriously, i'd still 'support' the team, i just wont go to watch them...been there, done that, wont ever do it again...but then, i and the rest of the current support wont be the key driver in the coming franchise future of the game so it wont matter what we think or say or dont do...
Firstly I don't believe that wholesale franchise football will be a reality in this country as long as I've still got a hole in my a*se.
Secondly the heart and soul of our club is in SE7. We have a connection with Kent but thats about all.
What I can see is the club realising that Northern Kent/Thames corridoor is a growth area for new homes and new homes = potential new supporters. It thus makes sense that we make a big noise in that area. Hence the reserves playing there and the training area.
I suppose the conspiracy theorists will say that the clubs plan is to skew its support base so much as to make those who live out in Kent as in a majority, then hold an Everton style referendum about moving to Kent, knowing it can win it. I doubt any plan is that far advanced. What any prudent business will be doing is looking at ways of growing it's revenue streams. There are too many chimney pots in Kent to ignore.
growth area, no competition, plenty of land for development, good transport links, ready made cutomer base..sounds like a franchise opportunity to me...and to anybody looking for a business opportunity that's not going to be too bothered about upsetting a few fans...its been done already at mk dons so there's now no barrier to doing it again...us and west ham (with their essex fanbase) must be ripe for it in the eyes of a overseas investor...
its what i fear Ltgtr - The right synagies are there and if you looked at it coldly it would make sense. But you can't look at things of the heart coldly.
It would never happen with current people involved, if we were subject of a big interest on promotion though, all current rules and trust would be out the window.

Thin end of the wedge, and all that?
Because they are linked with a training ground?
Charlton is in SE7 ... THAT'S THAT.

Errr?
I'd support AFC Charlton, started by Henry and managed by Cory Gibbs.

Charlton in Kent is a no no for me
Quite simply too many of us care too much and would never let it happen.

Nooooooooooo!
That's all I have to say on the matter. We've discussed this before.
