Jamal Campbell-Ryce

Apparently Jamal plays for Barnsley these days. What are the odds......?

  • Good point, we better get the bookies before the game!
  • There's a lad about 10 rows in front of me with a Campbell-Ryce shirt!

He didn't have a number, so added "is a legend" (or something like that) after he left. Must've cost more than the shirt for all that lettering!

But we SHOULDN'T have let him go - however, compared to other acquisitions and the timing of when we did let him go, it's not the worst of the bunch ....

Why not? We let him go late 2004, nearly 3 years before we got relegated.

He would only have been a useful player for us 2 years after leaving us, by then he's got the experience of nearly 100 games. Same thing with Michael Turner.

They've both developed into the players they are now through playing 100+ matches in the Championship and League One.

If they were coming through now, they'd be given a chance and we would keep him.

Wagstaff for example, if he came through 3 or 4 years earlier, would have been let go.
  • Does 7 figures include the decimals?

    75000.00
  • Reading are believed to be interested
  • JCR has signed for Bristol City
