Ok gang. My apology for not attending this evening's match...league cup and never win etc...but does this mean that Dowie has kocked out poor participation in this cup but more than hopefull but could this mean a strong run at the end of the season......Onwards and upperwards methinks!
have to say i thought that was one of the worst all-round games of football i've seen in a long time. bolton didn't offer anything, it took one good cross from jfh and a good finish from marcus bent to win the game, the rest was easily forgettable imho.

The bloke on Sky Sports News was saying that Bolton battered us. You don't agree then?
[cite] Rothko:[/cite]At the end it was all Bolton, but we looked like a team who had forgotten how to close a game out at the end.
Spot on there ... we had a good first half, the second half was even if a little sleepy and Herman should have scored, but it went a bit messy in the last the last 10 mins or so, as Bolton seemed to wake up. The otherwise good Kish had a moment of Radness, Young got the complete run around by Smith and was lucky not to be responsible for an equalizer - and what about that clearance by Sankofa!
Must have been quite a bash on the hip or thigh for JT, but hopefully not the sort of injury that keeps you out for more than a week or so. Mind you, he had been clattered a few times before that - the ref. probably should have booked someone by then.
Disappointed by Ambrose again, but think Marcus Bent is worth a go if we go 442 on Saturday evening.
PS What has happened to Lloyd Sam - is he injured or still at Sheff Wed?
With the results we have been getting recently i can't believe some people are moaning about the performance.
A win was the most important thing (yes, i know its cliched) as it can become a habit. Two clean sheets on the trot now as well.
We've played a lot better in previous games and got nothing, this really could kick start the season, just a shame Toon had a decent result against Portsmouth.
[cite] LoOkOuT:[/cite]Hi O. Thanks for forwarding the message earlier. LOL, some dead ringers in there.
I just took the liberty of changing your title for this discussion, as I was going to start me own thread on the match reactions, but you'd already done something similar. That alright?
Alright lookie, i must admit i was a bit baffled as i didnt remember starting that thread! Of course its alright, my subject field was rubbish! I was in a rush!

had the bloke on sky sports had 5 pints of Coors in the RO?
We came uner a lot of pressure last night but I thought we stood up to it really well. El Karkouri had an excellent game, although I wish he would cut that back heel pass out as you just know it will lead to a disaster the next time he tries it. HH, Young & Fortune all played well and made some vital last ditch tackles. I also though Sankofa looked confident when he came on for the last 10 minutes. Mhyre must also take a lot of credit for his organisation and non-stop encouragement of the defence.
Ambrose was shocking after replacing Thomas and I am now starting to worry that we are not going to be able to make the best use of the talent that he obviously has.
[cite] AFKA Bartram:[/cite]played well first half, confidence grew after the goal. Game changed after Jerome went off (anyone got any news ?).
Under the cosh a bit second half, struggled to keep the ball, but just done enough.
this is what they've said on the OS
"But Reed was hopeful that it would turn out to be nothing more than bruising.
He said: "Jerome is being assessed at the moment. He got two knocks; a clip on the ankle and then a knee on the top of his hip.
"His hip is quite sensitive but hopefully it's only going to be bruising so he'll be OK.”

and there was us thinking you had done a lord lucan on us
Special mention for M Bent who I thought was class tonight, chased absolutely everything and looked really up for it....
As said, wasn't the greatest of performances, but just done enough and hopefully a win will give a bit of confidence.

Looking forward to Saturday tea-time now.

Remind me never to write anything nasty about his hip...
