Our squad

This is the simple reason why i think we'll be going straight back up this season. Last night the team we DIDN'T start could've been:

Randolph, Moo2, Sodje, McCarthy, Thatcher, Ambrose, Holland, Racon, Thomas, Todorov, McLeod.

That team is almost as good as the team which did start in my opinion. Teams like Bristol city and coventry that are up there now, let them have their 5 minutes as over a 46 game season their squads won't cope. I'm feeling confident this morning!

  • very good point Chris
  • I have posted something very similar to this on the Varney thread, the "Parachute" payments give you the luxury of employing a massive squad and Pards has chosen to recruit a mass of good players rather than punting the lot on one bloke like the Blades have done with Beattie.

Beattie cost them 4 million but there is no way known that he is not on less than 35-40K for dropping down a division which is obviously chewing up a lot of their cash.
  • Sheff Utd didn't lose many of their squad though. Only Jagielka has gone really. They also added Billy Sharp and Lee Hendrie so they'll definitely be up there. They will be very strong at home.
  • Agreed, they will be very strong but apart from Beattie they don't have as much quality as we have and nowhere near the strength in depth. Robson is also a very poor manager and coach so you'd have to think he might bollox it up for them as well.
  • No idea what their midfield is like but with Beattie, Stead, Webber and Sharp they'll certainly score goals. I think it'll be us and them to go up along with west brom. Not exactly sticking my neck out there but the quality will tell in this league.
  • Watford?
  • Play offs for them. Good side but it will depend on them staying injury free as i don't think they've got a massive squad
