I still don't get Semedo

  • Semedo looked decent on tuesday and he's exactly the type of player we needed in a midield of Lloyd Sam, ZZ and Reidy who arent as willing to be as disciplined as he is. A couple of sloppy passes but some real nice ones aswell, i think he's already a decent player but when he adapts hell be a class one.
  • [cite]Posted By: northstandsteve[/cite]did he play defence that game can't remember?

He started in midfield but moved to left back when Maggie got injured.

I think Weegie is probably referring to the way he was outmuscled and outjumped for their second goal.
  • He (semedo) can hardly take the blame if when the ball goes past him the centre backs he is there to protect then screw up surely. I think I would prefer a bit more of an expansive style but while the points are clicking on why take the extra risk. The way the defence has largely played this season we need the extra man and the midfield diamond we have although slightly lopsided though it is. I think Reid played in that sort of set up on the left at Forest and while we are playing that way it would make sense if he continued ove ron the left.

You're right Len - I'm not having a go at him, just pointing out that he didn't look like he had a clue about how to challenge as a centre half on that occasion. I think he's better doing the Keith Jones job, and just needs some time to adjust to the pace of our game.
