So how the hell are we gonna keep Reid this coming January? The guy is total class and way too good to play at Championship level. If he keeps fit (figures crossed) he will be the man that sends us up. I just worry that a prem club will come in with a 4-5mill bid and tempt the fella.

If a prem club comes in for him we may have to sell but why would they. They may think he didn't set the world alight at Spurs, has a history of injuries and not much pace. For £5m can buy a french or spanish player with a better pedigree.
Don't get me wrong I think he will be vital for us but lets not build him up too much.
on another note, thought Varney looked excellent, shame he couldn't cap it off with that goal in the 2nd half and McCleod did very well when he came on.
His premiership experiences aren't that great remember.
Injuries/ bit part at Spudz- relegation with us.
Dumped for bad attitude and going missing in games? Pards won't like that.
Regarding Reidy, even he was the best player in the CCC, why would there be any rush to sign for a Prem club in January.
Put yourself in his place:
Who would want to buy? Top 6 Prem club. Nope.
Mid-table 'might just squeeze a EUFA cup place but safe from relegation' side going nowhere. Probably not - they'll sign a foreign mercenary for half what Reidy would cost.
Relegation pack struggler? These are the teams who will fancy him. They'll see ability & creativity, experience and leadership skills.
But providing Charlton are in the the thick of the promotion race and he's enjoying his football why would he want to leave? Much more exciting to win promotion than risk the despair of losing a relegation battle. He's skipper for his club, playing for his country and likely to be playing in the Prem anyway during the summer.
If Charlton don't get promoted, that could be a different issue.
a. other teams will soon catch on and do a real tight job on him
b. he dictates the tempo we play at and a lot of time if seems three quarter pace.
As i said in my quick report, one great ball seems to be followed by one bad ball and if he can balance out trying to play the killer ball with just keeping posession in a simple way, then we've got a real player at this level.
Above all, he seems to give his all, is respected by the rest of the side, and seems to be enjoying his football at the moment.
And as AFKA says, I also think that after being sidelined at Spurs and all the hassle of the first season at Charlton, he's simply enjoying himself at the moment.
