Our allocation - revisited

edited September 2007 in General Charlton
An allocation of 2,400.

Strict with buying regulations. No open sale and only on sale to members two days before hand.

total turnout 2,698.

So where did the extra 300 come from, and why did the club at no stage whatsover say there were extra tickets ?

The whole thing seemed to be handled very, very strangely.

  • Are these not the mystery 300 that turned up last week? There were 50 tickets left on Thursday morning and 250 or so Thursday afternoon weren't there?
  • Well our Group had 29 tickets & none of us had a seat, most of us were standing in the Isles all game !
  • I really do not know why they did not give us teh whole stand.

There lot in there could easy fitted in the empty seats on the other side

no doubt, but other than saying there was 50 left one day, 250 the next day, there was no announcement at all.

If as it proved we could sell that central block and it was segregated on police advice, why didn't we just take it and do a proper job of flogging the tickets ?

I think the police can sometimes have an impact on the allocation given for such games can't they, as it would cost more to police if 5k charlton went instead of half that.
  • fair point but not when Palace themselves failed to show up.
  • What suprised me was the lack of police between the exit gate and the entrance to the station, hardly any about
