Automatic promotion poll

edited September 2007 in General Charlton
what percentage likelihood do you now think we have of automatic promotion (and what would you have said at start of season?

For me ...

Now: 75%
Start: 50%

Comments

  • Start 38.5%

    Now 38.1%
  • Now: strong
    Start: strong.
  • We've had a good week, but i'm still not fully convinced. Want to see how our play changes when Varney comes into the reckoning. With Racon added, i think we're very strong in midfield, i still worry about us defensively though.

I think we'll be play offs minimum but our chances of automatic remain 50:50
  • On that brief eveidence, Racon looks quality which convinces me even more that in midfield and strikers we will be a cut above the rest of the league. Defence and general strength are weaknesses, but with West Brom selling all their players and Sheff Utd getting off to a shaky start I am confident. You can win this league and still lose a fair handful of games, unlike the PL.

    I can't see us finishing below 3rd.

on betfair you can back us to get promoted at a little better than 2 to 1 and lay us to get promoted at 5 to 2
only watford better fancied than us
  • Our strongest X1 is as good as any in this division.

In certain areas though we lack strength in depth and could get found out if injuries affect us.

I think we will be comfortably in the top half but just wonder if we will have the consistency necessary to gain promotion either automatically or via the play offs because of the lack of strength in depth.

I was thinking that we have a very large squad and other than a similar player to Iwelumo I think we have cover. Perhaps Randolph is inexperienced but he has down well so far.

Cover for Iwelumo is certainly one area that concerns me as is left back and to a lesser degree centre back.

We could in all seriousness do with your love child finally getting himself fit:-)

I've every confidence in Randolph should he be required.
