  • was definitely planning to go but won't be paying £21.50 for that scummy ground
  • isn't it 19 for colchester and thats apparently a scummy ground too?

whats the difference? (apart from £2.50)
  • midweek is the thing probably Suze, always less appealing for people (esp. those with families)
  • £21 is a bit steep, all those years of not having to water the grass they dont pass the savings onto the customer do they.

I for one will be trying to grab one of their student tickets!

thameslink direct from london bridge/kingscross/city.....I'm not convinced its that bad tbh.
Its midweek, and I reckon i could get there and back from home in the same time i'd get to the valley on a train, and for the same price.
if we can take hundreds to villa on a midweek, or hundreds to everton for midweek cup game then we should a lot there.

on one thread we've got people complaining they can't get tickets and another saying they won't buy them when they can have loads!
  • Spoke to another another 3 that was thinking of coming they sai no way

    8 no's now

you trying to say Charlton fans are picky?!
  • Really wanted to go but will seriously have to look at train times, as from London Bridge I have to get two trains back to the Mighty Sittingbourne.
  • I appreciate some won't be able to afford it/get there etc, thats not the problem. Our fan base 'should' reflect this game to be desirable to at least the majority of these tickets.

Where are the 2500 that paid £30 for palace, and more went to Operation Ewood last season?
  • i won't go unless the club lay on free travel.

  • Suzi, i'm not arguing that £21.50 is too much for a football match.

I'm arguing that £21.50 is too much for a midweek Coca Cola cup game held at a 3rd division club in what is notoriously one of the most daetd away sections in the country.

The price is over double what we charged in the last round.

exactly - £15 should be tops for a third-round Fizzy lager cup game at one of the worst grounds in the country
  • Don't disagree but they may well see this a possible pay day.
  • aye it should be 15 quid to be honext but its only another 6.50 so should be able to stretch to that even tho they are taking the pee.

i know suzi you said most would be able to get a train back but what time is the last train in case of dreaded extra time and penalties????
  • don't they run late because of the airport connection between gatwick and luton?

Midweek actually makes it more appealing for me - it's just an evening out rather than taking up half the weekend.

Trains to London Bridge are four an hour until 00:04, so no problems getting one back to LB.

  • just chance it mate, at the end of the day clubs spout all this ID bollocks and the stewards are never interested in asking too many questions, don't forget they are paid miserably and just want an easy ride most of the time
  • You've had the best bits, it's all downhill from now, sort out your pension on Tuesday!

The age restriction will related to your age at the game, don't know if they check, or what they might check.
  • what has failed to be mentioned as well is that four days later we are away at Coventry and the following Tuesday away at Hull. Two new grounds and both more appealing than a night out in Luton. Three aways in a week stretches anyone's wallet.
  • blimey, hadn't realised that Large.
  • still, with the 5k that went to blackburn, we can divvy up the 3 games between us and sell out all 3 no?

I'm not going to Hull or Coventry. surely others will go to Hull and not the other two, and the same with Coventry.

I think the blackburn 5k got lost on the way to Stoke, hopefully they all got home safely. Shame they didn't make it to the match.
  • I bagsy Coventry. you are all welcome to Hull on a Tuesday night new ground or not. : - )
  • and it's practically winter so will be a bit nippy.school night for the kids.christmas is nearly here so not so much ready money.......
  • Luton and Coventry for me.

Go to Hull next year :(
