Egypt were all over Zimbabwe yesterday but it took mo Salah until injury time to win it for them 2 - 1
4 games on today, with Congo 1 up against Benin at the moment.0 -
Why are the attendances so abysmal? Too expensive for fans to travel for the tournament?1
-
So expensive to travel and stay.
For example if you're coming from Mali it will cost over $750 on travel. Then probably a further 2 grand on accommodation for the tournament. That's about a years average wage in Mali.2 -
A certain Mr Bonne came on at HT for Zimbabwe against Egypt yesterday0

Cheers, that really puts it into context. It’s a shame, fans add so much to matches and it’s hard to get into this tournament when it feels so flat.Karim_myBagheri said:So expensive to travel and stay.

Yeah I was going to make the effort to watch a good few games, and started watching South Africa vs Angola yesterday, and the atmosphere felt so flat, so couldnt get into the match... Its a real lesson and reminder as to how important the fans are, not that any organisers would realise that.se9addick said:

The AFCON expert on Talksport thought Morocco will win it but his dark horses were South Africa.0

Home team Morocco got through earlier. Cameron 2 up against sarf Africa at the moment.fairly pacey game.
Whilst watching some of this tournament over the last couple of weeks, have to say I never realised how much it rains in Morocco.0 -
Glad it's being switched to every 4 years. To me and i suspect many others it's a total irrelavence.0

Haven't really followed any of this but looking at the results it seems all the big guns are through so far with Senegal, Morocco and Cameroon all through to the quarters. If results over the next two days go as expected the quarters will be:
Mali v Senegal
Morocco v Cameroon
Egypt v Ivory Coast
Algeria v Nigeria
It's probably not until the quarters that this tournament actually becomes watchable anyway.0 -
Quarter finals have worked out exactly as expected above. Some big games coming up.Chris_from_Sidcup said:Haven't really followed any of this but looking at the results it seems all the big guns are through so far with Senegal, Morocco and Cameroon all through to the quarters.
