Have you ever actually watched a game at The Den? Our official capacity, ie the amount of seats in the ground, and our actual capacity, ie the amount of seats we can sell, are two different things. It’s common knowledge. Most Charlton fans would know this.MartinCAFC said:

P.s. we were rubbish today. We always seem to struggle against the poorer teams in the league. So you’ve definitely got a chance of beating us this time around 😉4

Yes, been three times. No, didn't know about the amount of seats you can sell being less, maybe you're right most of our fans would know this, I didn't, maybe our fans just aren't into your lot as your fans seem to be with us. Appreciate the explanation though and why. Not sure i'd call a sell out a sell out though unless it was every seat sold barring seats lost to segregation but your post does clear that up.MillwallFan said:

I don’t know mate. Our biggest gate this season was 18700. I mean we usually have at least a couple of blocks empty in the away end. Not sure if that amounts to 1300 though. We’ve sold out the home ends loads of times over the last 30 years but the attendance hasn’t gone past the 20k mark since those early cup games I mentioned.MartinCAFC said:

I went on their main forum again this morning - the one that sometimes gets over ten posts a day, is not interested in Charlton and is stuffed full of genuine inner-london docker types, and no suburban geeks.
They are banging on about attendances, in a manner I found particularly threatening.
One bloke who is especially not-obsessed with Charlton somehow finding a hard as nails way to convince even me that Millwall’s historical average is higher than Charlton’s; making the killer point that we only won the FA cup because playing on the ‘Kent borders’ we were relative beneficiaries of the second world war (ignoring the fact we finished 2nd, 4th and 3rd in the three seasons preceding, nevermind the proximity of things like Woolwich and the Royal Docks); and we haven't sold out a non-top-flight London derby since the 1950s - glossing over that 1. it’s easy to do with a lower league, low capacity, soulless, generic stadium; and 2. it’s factually incorrect.
But you don't need to be right when you're terrifying.

I think without all the injuries then we could have given top 6 a real shot. The way things are though, and with a couple of key players suspended as well, I think your mates are right. Top ten but probably missing out on top 6.stonemuse said:
